ZANESVILLE - Ralph Louis "Sam" Corder, of Nashport, passed away at 11 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008, at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. Sam was born on Oct. 1, 1939, in Zanesville, to the late Ralph Willard and Lilly Ellen Hinkle Corder. He was employed for many years by the Paul Contracting Co. and retired from Mil Glo Masonry. He was a 40-year member of the Eagles and dearly loved his family. Sam is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Barbara Riggle Corder of the home; a son, Willard Charles "Charlie" (Robin) Corder of Zanesville; a daughter, Kristine (Jay) McHenry of Zanesville; a sister, Delores (Tim) Boone of Avondale; four grandchildren, Bradley McHenry, Brittany McHenry, Timothy Corder and Kaleigh Corder; a special niece, Susan Darby of Zanesville; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and his sidekick his dog, Peanut. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a very special brother, Jack Benny Corder, who passed away on Oct. 15, 2008; three brothers; three sisters; and a granddaughter, Courtney Ann McHenry. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, at The Snouffer Funeral Home, 1150 W. Military Road. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, 2008, in The Snouffer Chapel, with Pastor David Richard of First United Pentacostal Church and Pastor Aaron Bounds of Apostolic Gospel Church officiating. Burial will follow in Fultonham Cemetery.

Alfred Glenn Goodin, 49, of West Broadway, New Lexington, a retired employe of Burnham Boiler Corporation, died at 6:05 p.m. Friday in Good Samaritan Medical Center of an apparent heart attack suffered at his home. He was born Aug. 21, 1923, in Ohio, a son of Vint and Leona Hiles Goodin. Mr. Goodin retired due to ill health. He was a member of the Apostolic Church in New Lexington. He is survived by his widow, Naomi Munyon Goodin; two brothers, Richard and Howard Goodin, both of New Lexington Route 2; six sisters, Mrs. Margaret Dunwoody of Junction City Route 1, Mrs. Dorothy Forgrave of New Lexington Route 2, Mrs. Eleanor Bishop and Mrs. Maxine Brimgardner, both of Moxahala, Mrs. Ruth Ann Robinson of Roseville and Mrs. Santa Faye Dyer of Junction City Route 1. Chute-Wiley Funeral Home at New Lexington is in charge of arrangements.
