ZANESVILLE - Harry O. "Sonny" Gheen, 66, of Zanesville, died at
3 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2008, at his residence following a
year-long illness. He was born Wednesday, Sept. 10, 1941, in
Zanesville, the son of Harry E. and Clara Samson Gheen. He married
Linda Harris Gheen Saturday, July 3, 1965. He was a loving husband,
father and grandfather and enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.
In addition to his wife of the home, Sonny is survived by one son,
Harry O. Gheen, Jr. of Zanesville; two daughters: Cheryl (Ronnie)
Simon of Cambridge and Brenda (Brian Deering) Gheen of Zanesville;
four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; 14 brothers and sisters;
two sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and numerous aunts, uncles
and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother;
and an infant sister. Calling hours will begin at 1 p.m. with
funeral services at 3 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2008, at the Hillis &
Hardwick Funeral Home, 935 Forest Ave. Pastor Aaron Bounds will
officiate. A caring cremation will take place and burial will
follow at a later date.

COLEMAN - T R Knowles, 65, of 1714 S. Colorado in Coleman, died
Wednesday at 8:20 a.m. at Overall Memorial Hospital following a
long illness. Funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the Concho
Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Smith, pastor, officiating
assisted by the Rev. Paul Hubbard of the Immanuel Baptist Church
and the Rev. T. L. Slimp. Burial will be in the Coleman Cemetery.
Mr. Knowles was born April 21, 1905, in Coleman County. He married
Nonie Wisener Nov. 17, 1924, in Coleman. He lived in Coleman County
all his life and was a stock farmer and a grain and burlap buyer.
He was a member of the Concho Baptist Church. Survivors are his wife
of Coleman; one daughter, Mrs. Billy Hubbard of Coleman; on son, Fred
of Coleman, 11 grandchildren and three great-granchildren; two
sisters, Mrs. Earl Croft of Austin and Mrs. Ivy Barker of Coleman;
two brothers, R R of Garland and F. C. of Coleman.
