KNOWLES, WILBUR LEWIS, 65, of Cape Coral and formerly of St.
Petersburg, died Saturday (Dec. 30, 1989) at the VA Medical Center
at Bay Pines. He came here 10 years ago from his native Kansas,
where he was a director of Maude Carpenter Children's Home, member
of the Lions Club and the Toastmasters Club, all of Wichita, Kan.
and past president of Sertoma Club in Olathe, Kan. He was a retired
real estate broker. During World War II, he served in the Coast
Guard. He was a member of McGregor Boulevard Church of Christ, Fort
Myers. Survivors include his wife, Mary Alice; a son, Patrick Moky,
Kansas City, Kan.; two daughters, Corliss Ann Dell, Rockford, Ill.,
and Tracy Linn Knowles, Cape Coral; two brothers, Lester, Napa,
Calif., and Arthur J., Ryan, Okla.; two sisters, Martha Guymon,
Seminole, Okla., and Opal Kingsbury, Belle Plaine, Kan.; and four
grandchildren. E. James Reese Funeral Home, Seminole.

Wilbur Knowles
Bay Pine, Fla. - Wilbur Lewis Knowles, 65, of Cape Coral, Fla., died Dec. 30 at
Bay Pine Veterans Hospital. He was born Sept. 2, 1924, in Winfield to Arthur and
Mana (Akers) Knowles. He married Mary Alice Saxton.
A real estate broker, he moved 10 years ago to Cape Coral. He was a member of
McGregor Boulevard Church of Christ in Ft. Myers, Fla. Knowles had worked as
director of the Maude Carpenter Children's Home in Wichita. Survivors include
his wife of Cape Coral, son Patrick Moky Knowles of Kansas City, Kan., daughter
Corliss Ann Dell of Rockford, Ill., and Tracy Linn Knowles of Cape Coral, brothers
Lester Knowles of Napa, Calif., and Arthur Knowles of Ryan, Okla., sisters Martha
Guymon of Seminole, Okla., and Opal Kingsbury of Belle Plaine, and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thrusday at Swisher-Taylor & Morris Chapel in Winfield.
Interment will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. A Memorial has been established with
the Maude Carpenter Children's Home, 1501 N. Meridian, Wichita, Kan. 67203.
Contributions also may be made at the funeral home.

Hinman, Charles J., Jr. Bay City, Michigan Formerly of Roscommon
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed
away Friday, January 13, 2006, at Brian's House at the age of 85.
Charlie was born October 31, 1920 in Chicago to the late Charles J.
and Anna L. (Herald) Hinman, Sr. He married the former Lois Crossley
August 24, 1944; she survives him. Charlie served with the U.S. Army
during WWII. He retired from Grey Iron Foundry in 1982 after 36 years
of service. Charlie was a member of Visitation Church. He loved
sports, especially basketball; Charlie was also an avid golfer and
bowler. He served for 28 years as Secretary for the Thursday Twi-Night
Bowling League, and coached the Northwest Little League for several
years. Surviving besides Lois, his loving wife of 61 years, are his
children: Gary (Renee) Hinman of Luzerne, Margaret (Donald) Cabay,
and Mary Sue (Gary) Anderson, both of Bay City; his grandchildren:
Melissa (Gary) Lynch of Rosebush, and David (Gina Rohn) Hinman of Bay
City; his great-granddaughter, Paige Hope Lynch; six sisters and
brothers: Martha Michaud, Ruth Gatliff, Mary (Adam) Schafer, David
(Mary Ann) Hinman, Catherine Jordan, and Walter (Maureen) Hinman; his
sister-in-law, Ina (LeRoy) Parsons; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his brother,
George. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the
staff of Brian's House for the loving care shown to Charlie. The
Funeral Mass will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 16, 2006 at
Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Gerald E.
Balwinski will officiate with Rite of Committal to follow in Calvary
Cemetery. Friends may call at the Stapish Cederberg Funeral Home West
on Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., and Sunday from 2:00 until
8:00 p.m., where a Vigil Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Charlie
will then lie in state at church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the
time of Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to

Chas Rambo, Boy in School Dies, at South Zanesville
Arrival of Grandparents From Florida Awaited for Burial
Charles Lewis Rambo, seven-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Rambo
died at 2:50 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the family home, 115 East
King street, South Zanesville, after a lingering illness of several
months' duration. The deceased was a pupil in the South Zanesville
public school and is survived by the parents and a brother, Glenn at
home; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rambo of
Maysville avenue, who are at present visiting in Florida; and the
maternal grandmother, Mrs. Carl Harmon of Pear street. Funeral
arrangements will not be completed until arrival of the grandparents
from Florida. A.I. Trimmer is in charge.
