Raymond A Ferrell, 70, of Adamsville road died at 2:35 p.m. Sunday
at Frame Nursing Home where he had resided since March 21. A
retired farmer, he had been ill for a long time and in serious
condition for four days. He was born in Muskingum Township Oct
14, 1893, a son of the late Lemert and Cora Plummer Ferrell. A
lifelong resident of Muskingum County, he is survived by his widow,
Mrs. Mabel Ferrell, a daughter , Mrs. Pauline Lyons of Columbus;
two sons, Robert Ferrell of Zanesville Route 5 and Donald Ferrell
of 901 Somers street; a sister, Miss Ethel Ferrell of Zanesville
Route 5; a brother, Richard Ferrell of near Dresden; and four
grandchildren. A sister is also deceased. Services will be held
at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Shirer and Son Funeral Home in Adamsville.
Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to
9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral
home.

Manhattan Mercury, The (KS) - July 7, 2004
Rutha Luella Reavis, 71, of Manhattan, died Monday, July 5, at the
Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born on Aug. 7, 1932,
in Gypsum, the daughter of Victor and Bessie (Fisher) Van Meter.
Mrs. Reavis
was raised in eastern Kansas and had been a Manhattan resident
since 1956. She was a homemaker. She was united in marriage to
Edwin H. Reavis
on Sept. 6, 1956, in Topeka. He preceded her in death on March
28, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her father, Victor
Van Meter. Following the death of her husband she attended the
Manhattan Widowed Person Service at the Riley County Senior Service
Center. Mrs. Reavis played the piano and enjoyed attending musical
performances of all types. She is survived by two daughters, Brenda
Reavis of Littleton, Colo., and Linda Reavis of Ashland, Ky.; two
sons, Steven Reavis and his wife Teresa of Central Point, Ore., and
David Reavis of Great Bend; her mother, Bessie Van Meter of Topeka;
two sisters, Betty Wilson of Torrance, Calif., and Wanda Placer of
Kila, Mont.; and three grandchildren, Brandon and Breanne Reavis of
Central Point, Ore., and Melissa Anderson of Natchitoches, La.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at the
Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Chapel with Dwight Craig and
Doyle Copeland officiating. Burial will follow in the Westmoreland
Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6:30 until 8 p.m. Thursday at
the funeral home. On-line condolences may be left for the family at

lieu of plants the family suggests memorials be made to the Topeka
Midland Hospice House. Contributions may be left in care of
