ZANESVILLE - Leslie Zane Hittle, 78, of Dresden, passed away Jan. 19, 2009, at his home. Leslie was born June 30, 1930, in Zanesville, to the late Ralph and Myrtle Spiker Hittle. He was a farmer and truck driver. Zane was a former 4-H adviser for many years, past commander of VFW Post 11072 Dresden, Freeland Valley Tractor Club and the Steam & Gas Club of Dresden. He is survived by a son, William (Heather) Hittle of Dresden; two daughters, Bethany A. Hittle of Gibsonia, Pa. and Tamara Hittle of Zanesville; a brother, Max (Bess) Hittle of Dresden; three grandchildren, Malissa (Randy) Wilson, Klare Hittle and Wolfgang Hittle; a great-grandchild, Rayne Wilson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rita Joann Hittle, who passed away Nov. 23, 2008; and a grandson, Matthew Hittle. Calling hours will be 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, at The Snouffer Funeral Home, 1150 W. Military Road. Funeral services are 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, in The Snouffer Chapel, with the Rev. Alice Baldwin officiating. A cremation will follow.
