GREENSBORO Mrs. Dorothy Hylton Garber, 80, passed into eternal peace
on Monday, March 14, 2005, at Moses Cone Hospital. Graveside service
will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Westminster Gardens Cemetery. The
Rev. Susan Vickers will officiate. She was the daughter of W.T. and
Laura Stamback Hylton of Roanoke, Va. She was a graduate of James
Madison University. Dorothy taught civics and science for 21 years,
retiring in 1977, from Kiser Middle School. She was a member of
Christ United Methodist Church. She resided at Abbotswood Retirement
Community. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 60 years, Otho Leon
Garber; children, Cindy Garber Turnipseed and husband David Sr., of
Spartanburg, S.C., Jeffrey Hylton Garber and wife Carol of
Kernersville and David Leon Garber and wife Muffet of Charlotte;
seven grandchildren, six boys and one girl; and two
great-granddaughters. The family will receive friends following
the service at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be
made to Christ United Methodist Church, 410 N. Holden Road,
Greensboro, NC 27410.
