Roanoke Times, The (VA) - July 10, 2007
Mr. Gleon Lester Harris, 85, of Meadows of Dan, passed away Sunday,
July 8, 2007 in the loving care of his granddaughter, Jennifer
Schall. He was born on October 14, 1921 to the late Harvey and Ida
Shelor Harris. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in
death by his wife, Stella Knowles Harris; one infant sister; and
three infant brothers. Mr. Harris was retired from J.P. Stevens and
served in the U.S. Army during WW II. Surviving are a daughter and
son-in-law, Connie and Jerry Webb of Salem; one son, Earl L. Harris
of Durham, N.C.; four grandchildren, Luke Harris, Tyler Harris, Stacy
Webb, and Jennifer Webb Schall; and six great-grandchildren. There
will be a graveside service on Tuesday, July, 10, 2007 at 11 a.m. at
the Meadows of Dan Baptist Church Cemetery. Military rites will be
performed by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. In
lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Patrick County Veterans
Memorial Honor Guard, c/o Ophus Agnew, P.0. Box 129, Stuart, VA

James Michael "Jimmy" Dickerson, 17, of 5034 Ceramic Road NE,
Crooksville, died at 5:10 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2004, the result
of an automobile accident. Dickerson was born on Sept. 30, 1986,
in Zanesville. He was a member of the junior class at Crooksville
High School, and he was a member of the Church of the Atonement of
Crooksville. He is survived by his parents, Thomas and Beth Savage
Dickerson of Crooksville; two sisters, Erica (Scott) Houk and Janelle
Dickerson, all of Crooksville; maternal grandparents, Jim and Sandy
Savage; paternal grandparents, Rodney and Barbara Dickerson, all of
Crooksville; and aunts and uncles, Diana and Tim White, Rod and
Rachel Savage, Andy Dickerson, Ronda and Perry Miller, Tim and Cathy
Dickerson, Beth and Bill Rizer and Paula and Mark Anderson. A Mass
of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March
10, 2004, at the Church of the Atonement, Winter Street, Crooksville,
with Father Frank Stanton officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose
Hill Cemetery at Roseville. Calling hours will be after 2 p.m.
Tuesday, March 9, 2004, at Goebel Funeral Home, 36 N. Buckeye St.,

Raymond Diehl, 74, of 1239 Seborn avenue died at 8:36 p.m. Tuesday
(Feb. 3) following a heart attack suffered at home. He was dead on
arrival at Bethesda Hospital. Born in Zanesville, Nov. 14, 1895, he
was a son of George and Elizabeth Diehl. He is a retired mold maker
for the old Continental Can Co. in Zanesville, retiring in 1961. He
was a member of Masonic Lodge, Amity 5, and Local 121 of AFGWU.
Surviving are his widow, Geneva Phillips Diehl; two sons, Raymond Jr.
of Mount Vernon and Russell of Newark; a daughter, Mrs. Eleanor
Wisecarver in Japan, and eight grandchildren. A brother and a sister
preceded him in death. The body was taken to Blue Avenue Chapel of
Bolin Funeral Home where friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
