Vigil service for Edward N. Thill, 82, will be at 7 p.m. today at
Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Mass is set for 10 a.m.
Saturday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Burial will
follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Mr. Thill, who was born in Missoula,
died Wednesday. He was a 50-year Spokane resident and owned
Proprietor Auto Parts Shop. His memberships included St. Francis
of Assisi Parish, Elks Lodge No. 1753, America Association of
Retired Persons and the Moose Lodge. He was an associate member of
Benchwarmers of Colville, Survivors include his wife of 57 years,
Martha (Ferrell) Thill; two sons, Edward Thill of Yakima and Charles
Thill of Spokane; two daughters, Anna Marie Karlson of Florence,
Mont., and Mary Jo Kern of Ellensburg; 11 grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Poor
Clare Nuns.

a boarding house. located three of
their 1860 neighbors in 1850 (so I found the right area), but they
don't seem to be there in 1850. Elizabeth must have moved to there
after James' death.

Mrs. Burley, 60, Dies at Roseville
Mrs. Myrtle Virginia Burley, 60, died Friday afternoon at her home in
Roseville after an illness of one year. A former resident of
Crooksville. Mrs. Burley is survived by two sons, James and Thomas,
both of Roseville, and two daughters, Mrs. Herbert Dornnon,
Zanesville, and Mrs. Jessie Howerth, New Lexington. Funeral services
will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran church, Roseville, at 2 o'clock
Monday afternoon. Burial will be made in the Crooksville cemetery by
Cannon & Cannon funeral home.

SHIPLET Merle Finch, age 80, of Moore, passed away January 21, 2000.
Born November 23, 1919, in San Juan, New Mexico, to Robert F. Shiplet
& Virgie Lyda Fletcher. Merle married Marilyn A. Hunter September
28, 1939, in Depew, Oklahoma. Merle graduated from Depew High
School in 1939. Mr. Shiplet was a railroad conductor, and was with
Frisco Railroad for 38 years. Merle was vice-president of the
Railroad Retirees Club. He was a life-time member of the VFW.
Mr. Shiplet was a member of the Regency Park Baptist Church,
and was a member of the Seniors Coed Sunday School class. He
enjoyed fishing and gardening, but his first love was spending
time with his family and especially his grandchildren. Merle is
survived by his wife, Marilyn, of the home; daughters, Joyce Crews
of Norman & Linda Huff of Oklahoma City; brother, Clarence R.
Shiplet, of Ada; & sister, Dollie McNatt, of Oklahoma City; 4
grandchildren; & 6 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces &
nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers,
Lawrence Gilbert Shiplet & Aubrey Lee Shiplet. Services will be
held Monday, at 2:00 PM, at the Regency Park Baptist Church of
Moore, with Brother Mike Hamilton officiating. Interment to follow
in Resthaven Cemetery. Family suggests memorial donations may be
made to the rebuilding program of the Regency Park Baptist Church,
2105 N. Janeway Ave., Moore, OK 73160. Services under the direction
of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel in Moore, Oklahoma.
