Notes:
the 1830 census entry is the only entry I've found for a Bazile B
Allison the right age to the be Catherine's husband. He is living
alone in 1830 with no children present. If this is him, it is
likely Catherine died before 1830.

from Joanne's dbase... A letter from "Linda" and from Lee F Sanders...
Ava was very instrumental in getting her brother Tom brought before
a sanity hearing. He was judged insane, and a gaurdian appointed.
In November, Tom asked for a reconsideration and the attending
physicians considered him cured and sane and he was returned to
his family. But a few months later in February 1875,Ava and some
of her siblings went to court again with information that Tom was
insane and not a fit person to be allowed his liberty and this
time the jury agreed. Tom was sent to the Osawatomie State Hospital,
and there he stayed for 44 years until he died of Intestinal
Enteritis. Then it goes on for another page about Ava's rape and
little girl and her 2'nd husband. I have been despartly trying to
find the name of Margaret's second father-nlaw for my Uncle Lee
Sanders who just turned 80.His grandpa Alfred would get up and walk
out of the room whenever anyone ever asked anything about his Dad,
two brothers, sister or Mother. Lee said he'd ask his grandma
Margaret about them and she would absolutely flat out refuse to
discuss anything about the Sanders side. She would tell stories
about the Hussey side that had come from Ky to Il. Albert's mom
was Melinda Hussey Sanders. Alberts father's a total mystery.THATS
who I'm trying to track down for Uncle Lee. He's been looking for
over 50 years.
Linda
The info about Aunt Ave Gibson answered questions I'd been trying
to get answers to for over 50 years.I'd heard some rumors thru the
O'Dell family, but could never pin it down.I used to ask Grandma
Sanders "whatever became of Uncle Tom!?" She'd only say "He's dead",
and drop the subject. She always had a host of pioneer stories to
tell me, but the family rukus involving her brother Tom was a closed
subject ,Period! Uncle Joe Gibson's eldest girl, Mary told me about
1959, that her Granddad Carroll Gibson died and was buried in Old
Oklahoma. At a cemetery called "three Cottonwoods" or later
"Cottonwood Corners". Several times I looked all over Northern
Kingfisher County, Oklahoma and could never find such a Pioneer
Cemetery. I did find the "Cimarron Valley" cemetery, five years
ago last spring. I took photos of Great Grandmothers stone and
those of Uncle Jim's family. Mary Ann Watts Gibson was the first
burial in the Gibson plot. I also hunted up the cemetery, seven
miles due south of Ringwood, Major County, Okla. Found and made
photos of the grave markers of Uncle Joe and Aunt Annie O'Dell
Gibson. Also their foster son Clarence Gibson. He died in the
army QMC in 1940. As a yung fellow he taught me to drive his
old 4 cyl Dodge car about 1926. I was too short to reach the
petals but I could shift gears and steer between the section
line fences. Can you imagine an 8 year old boy driving a big
old Dodge Touring car, down a country road thru the buffalo grass.
The fences were 4 rods apart so we had plenty room to chug along
at about 15 mph. Some Fun!

Later in the summer of 1875, a year after John (Turley) was
killed, Ava heard a bunch of horses approaching her dug-out,
where she had continued to live with her small daughter, about
a mile from her parents home. They were a rough looking bunch.
They were hungry and wanted food, so Ava cooked them a good meal,
hping they would not take advantage of a woman alone on the prarie.
But that was not to be. Ava was raped, and as a result, she had a
child the following spring in 1876, a little girl she named Rosa
Belle Turley. A year later in April 1877, Ava's father died. Her
family was forever broken apart. Her Mother Mary, after taking
court actions to get a guardian appointed to administer Tom's
affairs, left Barton County along with her two younger brothers,
Joseph and James and moved over to Sedgewick Co. Ks. for a while
before leaving Ks. of SW Mo., living at different times at Carthage
and Sarcoxie, in Jaspe
