Donald E. Gheen, Jr., five-week-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Eugene Gheen of 1406 Linden avenue, died at 4:55 o'clock this morning at the Good Samaritan hospital. Surviving in addition to the parents are the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Vernie Spicer of 1406 Linden avenue, and the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Gheen of the Chandlersville road. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Dean-Swope funeral home with burial in Memorial park. The body will remain at the funeral home.

Pauline Nannie Lamb Cooper, of Louisville, Kentucky, died on September 10, 2001 at Meadowview Nursing Home. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Arkadelphia, AR. She was born to Ed and Adell Lamb in Calico Rock on February 21, 1917. She graduated from Calico Rock High School on May 23, 1935. Pauline was the first woman to serve in the military from Izard County. She received an honorable discharge from the United States Army on August 26, 1943. She was employed at Cherokee Village, AR Post Office, and Ouachita Baptist University (1973 - 1987). On August 29, 1943 Pauline was married to Rev. Hugh 0. Cooper and to this union four children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Hugh 0. Cooper and parents, Ed and Adell Lamb. Surviving relatives are two son, Gary D Cooper of Fayetteville AR and Eddie L. Cooper of Thayer, MO; two daughters, Cathy E. Williams of Fayetteville, AR and Paula S. Mathews of Louisville, KY; one brother, Jim Lamb of Ellisville, MO; nine grandchildren, David, Dwayne and Daryl Williams, James Cooper and Kim Cooper Ridenoure, Jon Matthews, Heidi Smith, Lynsey and Justin Cooper; four great grandchildren, Zachary and Ashley Smith, Regan Ridenoure, and Hugh Dillon Cooper. The family will be available at the First Baptist Church in Melbourne, from 11:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. for visitation on Friday, September 14.. A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. m the Fellowship Hall of the Church the same day. Burial will follow at the Oxford Cemetery. Memorials may be to Pauline Cooper Memorial Fund, First Baptist Church of Melbourne, AR.
