ZANESVILLE -- Lula May McHenry, 68, of Zanesville, passed away at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2004, at her residence. She was born Dec. 23, 1935, in Zanesville, to the late Thomas and Mabel Lighthizer McGrath. She was a homemaker and a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many. Lula was a member of First United Pentecostal Church. Surviving are four sons, James (Tina) McHenry Jr. of Philo, Jeff (Joanie) McHenry of Zanesville, Jerry McHenry of Nashport and Jay (Kristine) McHenry of Zanesville; two daughters, Jackie (Mike) Bosak of Columbus and Janet (Gary) Joseph of Zanesville; a brother, Tom McGrath Jr. of Zanesville; four sisters, Esther Mercer, Mildred Kelso and Carol Baughman, all of Zanesville, and Catherine Barker of Bexley, W.Va.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Dorothy Hutton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James S. McHenry, who died Aug. 10, 1992; a sister, Clara Weaver; three brothers-in-law, Albert Barker, Robert Kelso and Robert Mercer; two grandsons, James and Jerry McHenry; a granddaughter, Courtney McHenry; a nephew, Marty Mercer; and a niece, Debbie Barker. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today, Sept. 10, 2004, at The Evangelism Center, 2450 Maysville Pike, with Pastor David Richard officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Horeb Cemetery in Crooksville.
