Mrs. George Longley, 81, mother of two Abilene residents died Sunday at 11:30 p.m. of a heart attack in Baylor County Hospital in Seymour. She had been in ill health for several weeks and had been in the hospital for one week. Mrs. Longley had been a resident of Baylor County since 1889. With only one or two brief interruptions she taught school from 1915 until 1948, then served as county superintendent from 1948 until 1957. Formerly Hallie Farr, Mrs. Longley was born February 3, 1882. Her husband, George, died in 1913. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the First Methodist Church in Seymour. Survivors include two sons, J. F. Longley of Abilene, vice president of West Texas Utilities Co., and A. J. Longley of Garden City, Kan.; two daughters, Mrs. E. E. Hale of 4118 Richmond, Abilene, and Mrs. Ralph Howe of Seymour; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, T. W. Farr and C. H. Farr, both of Seymour.
