MABEL BEATRICE YEOKUM 1904 - 2006 Born April 13, 1904, Mabel peacefully passed way in her home on November 14, 2006. Dearly beloved mother and grandmother of five generations, she is survived by daughter, Barbara Biers and son-in-law Bob Biers; eight grandchildren, Beverly Hattig, Larry Beardsley, Sharon Navaretti, Bette Biers, Barry Biers, Bonita Krall, Randy Pochmara, Wynema Flores; nineteen great grandchildren and thirty-eight great great great grandchildren. Brothers, Cecil and Junior Cox, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends feel the sorrow of her final journey. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, William Yeokum; and daughter, Maxine Pochmara. Mabel was born in Arcadia, Kansas and moved to California in 1949. Bill and Mabel opened Yeokums Grocery Store in Pine Flats, California in 1952. Having sold the store, Bill and Mabel moved to Granada Hills to live with their daughter and son-in-law in 1972. She was a 50+ year member of the Eastern Star and devoted to her family. She had a special talent of remembering all the birthdays and special events of her large family. Visitation will be on Monday, November 20, 2006, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Eternal Valley Mortuary. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2006, 2:00 p.m., at Eternal Valley Mortuary, 23287 Sierra Highway, Newhall, California.

Starla Rae Glass, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy M. Glass of Zanesville, Route 4, died this morning at birth in Bethesda hospital. Surviving besides the parents are the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ferrell of Dresden, Route 2, and Mrs. Mary Glass of Zanesville, Route 4, and several aunts and uncles. Private burial services were held at the grave in Greenwood cemetery this afternoon with Rev. Mr. Perry of the Sonora Methodist church officiating. Hearing-Bryan-DeLong funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
