Adah Lois Reavis, 104, of Augusta, formerly of Manhattan, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2003, at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. She was born on Oct. 20, 1898, in Goodland. Mrs. Reavis had been a Manhattan resident since 1954 moving here from a farm in rural Blaine, Kansas. She had recently moved to Augusta, Kansas to be near one of her sons. Mrs. Reavis was a member with the non-denominational church in Manhattan. In addition she enjoyed gardening, canning and cooking. She married Harvey Andrew Reavis on Feb. 12, 1920, in Blaine. He preceded her in death on Sept. 13, 1966. She was also preceded in death by one son, Edwin H. Reavis in 1999; and by two daughters, Fausta L. Kaiser and Viola May Reavis. Mrs. Reavis is survived by two sons, Wayne F. Reavis of Jacksonville, Ore., Forest L. Reavis of Augusta; 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in the Westmoreland Cemetery at Westmoreland. Friends may call anytime on Sunday and until service time on Monday at the funeral home. The Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas 66502 is handling the arrangements.
