Rites Today for Benjamin Skipton
Funeral services for Benjamin K. Skipton, 76, of Newark, will be conducted in that city Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. Woodrow Damron officiating. Burial will be in the Wilson cemetery. Mr. Skipton died in the Newark hospital Monday follosing an illness of several weeks. Born in Washington county, Nov. 17, 1874, he was the son of John A and Jane McKenna Skipton, and went to Newark more than 30 years ago. For several years, Mr. Skipton was in the employe of the Wehrle Co., and retired in 1935. He was married to Emma Longley in 1893, and they were the parents of four children. Besides his widow, he leaves two sons, Robert and Ervin Sipton of Marietta and a daughter, Mrs. Nellie Bolen of Kingsville, Tex.; also 19 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; one brother, J. E. Skipton of Zanesville and a sister, Mrs. Charles Richards of Allen Park, Mich. A son Harold is deceased.
