ANTHONY - Jack Sleeper, 69, died July 26, 2005, at Wichita.
He was born July 16, 1936, at Nashville, the son of Floyd J. and Mildred Louthan Sleeper. A resident of Anthony, he was a retired E7 from the U.S. Army and worked as a Coon's Refrigeration employee and a Park Hill Lanes employee. In January 1961, he married Myrtel Elliott. On Aug. 28, 1981, he married Barbara Manke Swonger at Anthony. She survives. Other survivors include: a son, Scott Swonger, Sharon; three daughters, Jackie Canfield, Hermosa, S.D., Cindy Moore, Newton, and Lisa Parsons, Wichita; two sisters, Darlene Kumberg, Isabel, and Rosalie Boulanger, Maize; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Vic; infant son, Robert; and his parents. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Spring Grove Cemetery, Anthony, with the Rev. Nathan Stanton presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Prairie Rose Funeral Home, Williams Chapel, Anthony. Memorials may be sent to V.F.W., Harper, or United Methodist Church, Anthony, both in care of the funeral home.
