Harold Savage, 58, Dies in Hospital
Harold V Savage, 58, of McConnelsville, a veteran of World War I and lineotype operator for the Morgan County Herald, died at the Veteran's hospital, at Huntington, W. Va., at 1:10 o'clock Sunday morning. His death was as unexpected as he had called Mrs Savage, here, Saturday evening and told her he was improving from an operation undergone at the hospital about April 20. Mr. Savage was the son of the late George and Bertha McElhose Savage, was born and spent his early life at Stockport, but for many years has resided in McConnelsville, where he was formerly employed with the Morgan County Democrat and of late years with the Morgan County Herald. He was a member of the Malconta band; of the Veterens of Foreign Wars; of the Disabled Veterans and of the Eagles and Moose lodges in Zanesville. Surviving are his widow, Lucille Perkins Savage; a daughter, Mrs. Bettie Faires, of Stockport and a granddaughter, Michele, of the home. The body was brought to the Fisher funeral home, in McConnelsville, Sunday night. Funeral services will be held at the Fisher funeral home Wednesday afternoon, at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in McConnelsville cemetery. The body will be returned to the funeral home in time for the services.
