WORLD WAR 1 VET DIES OF HEART ATTACK
BUCYRUS - A heart attack which came during his sleep caused the death between 10 and 11 o'clock Monday morning of Spencer H. Harrop, 48, native Bucyrian and veteran of first World War. Mr. Harrop was found by his wife at 11 a.m., less than an hour after she had visited his room and found him sleeping. Mr. Harrop was the son of James E. and Emma Zink Harrop. His parents are both dead and his only brother, Hugh, died in South Bend, Sep 29, 1946. Survivors are his widow, the former Alice Crum and a small daughter, Clara Louise. An aunt, Mrs. Elizabeth Harrop of Mansfield also survives. Mr. Harrop served overseas with the 42nd Rainbo division during the first World war and was fraternally associated with the VFW, American Legion and the Bucyrus Elks. He was a member of the Lutheran church at Detroit where he lived until returning to Bucyrus eight years ago. He had formerly operated a pool room in Bucyrus with his brother. A military funeral will be conducted at the Wise Funeral home at 2 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. H. H. Glick of Good Hope Lutheran church officiating. Burial will be made in Oakwood cemetery.
