Henry Savage of M'Connelsville Died on Thursday
McConnelsville, O., Nov. 28 - Henry Savage, aged 72 years died
Thanksgiving day at 12:30 at the home of his sister Mrs. Elizabeth
Donahue from infirmities. He was a life long resident of Morgan Co.,
and had been in failing health and blind for a number of years. He
is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ella Vanhorn of Columbus, one
brother, George Savage of Chicago, and the sister with whom he had
made his home. Three nephews Pearl Savage of McConnelsville, John
of Sells, Arizona, and George of Visatina, California and one neice
Mrs Maggie Shaver of Chicago. The body was taken to Columbus Friday
and funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at the home of
the daughter Mrs. Vanhorn. Burial will also be made at Columbus.

JAMES H. KNOWLES, 67, of Lakeland died Wednesday at home. A native of
Patrick County, Va., he moved to Polk County eight years ago from
Fort Walton Beach. He was a spiritual minister for Polk County jails,
a retired Assemblies of God church pastor, a veteran of World War II,
serving in the U.S. Army, and a member of the Order of the Purple
Heart. He is survived by his wife, Alma Lee; two sons, Timothy J.
of Lakeland and Steven Robert Sheffey of Fort Myers; a daughter,
Tammy Sue Weland of Lakeland; four brothers, Virgil of Martinsville,
Va., Arnold of Sterling, Va., Wilson "Pete" of Meadows of Dan, Va.,
and Kennard of Springfield, Ohio; and two sisters, Cassie McPeak and
Eula Ray, both of Meadows of Dan. Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home North
side Chapel, Lakeland.

In loving memory of Heber Adolf Arien Vlam a brother, husband,
father, uncle, grandfather and friend returned to his Heavenly Father
on Sunday, March 14, 2004. Heber was brought into this world by his
loving parents, Pieter Vlam and Hanna Melanie Gysler, raised in the
beautiful land of Holland. After surviving World War II in occupied
Holland, Heber at the age sixteen immigrated by ship with his family
to The United States of America. Heber served in the army for several
years and obtained the rank of Corporal. He later served a mission
for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the
Swiss-Austria Mission. Heber, a devout member of the LDS Church,
served in many capacities within the church. He is remembered with
his divine attributes of unconditional love, humility, endurance,
humor, selflessness, giving and non-judgmental to all. He was caring,
the leader of the band, a best friend, a great listener and
supporter. Heber received his masters in Geology and a Civil
Engineering degree. He had an outstanding career with the Utah
Department of Transportation for more than thirty years. Heber
enjoyed many outdoor activities, skiing, hiking, boating, rock
collecting and many other sports. Heber married Karen Lee Mills
in the Logan Utah Temple on the 26th day of October 1962; they were
later blessed with eight children. The family will find comfort in
knowing Heber will be with them forever and is preparing a way for
them. Survived by loving wife Karen, children Melanie (Ronald)
Winterton, Clark (Jodi) Vlam, Melissa (Anthony) Hammond, Curtis
(Sheri) Vlam, Chris (Ericka) Vlam, Marci (Jared) Draper, Mandi Vlam
and Misti Vlam, sister Grace Vlam, sister-in-law Marilee Vlam; along
with thirteen beautiful grandchildren. Preceded by Pieter (father),
Hanna Melanie (mother), Alvin (brother) and Vera (sister). A viewing
will be held Wednesday, March 17, 2004 at Memorial Estates Mountain
View Mortuary (3115 East 7800 South) from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services
on Thursday March 18, 2004 at the Cottonwood Heights Stake Center
6890 South 2225 East (Whitmore Way) at 11:00 am. Viewing one hour
prior to services. In lieu of flowers please send donations to any
America First Credit Union (c/o Melissa Hammond) for the continued
care of Karen Vlam.
