Ruth B. Pinkston, nee Beck, 78, of Dupo, Ill., born Jan.
12, 1926, in Johnston City, Ill., died Friday, March 5, 2004,
at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Ill.
Mrs. Pinkston was a homemaker. She was preceded in death
by her husband, James Carroll Pinkston; her father,
Mitchell Olen Beck; and brothers and sisters, Wanda
Lindhorst, Betty Crowder, Don Beck and Iva Lee Beck.
Surviving are her mother, Iva Mae, nee Rogers, Beck of
Columbia, Ill.; her children, Joyce, nee Wiechert, Chandler
of O'Fallon, Mo., Darla, nee Wiechert, Lucher of East
Carondelet, Ill., Janice, nee Pinkston, (Robyn) Chapman of
Van Buren, Mo., Steve (Teri) Pinkston of Hamel, Ill., and
James (Vicki) Pinkston of Pensacola, Fla.; a granddaughter,
Connie (Todd) Gericke; grandsons, Jeff (Lori) Chapman, Joe
(Johanna) Chapman, Abe Chapman and Nathan Pinkston;
great-grandchildren, Brianne, Alexandra, Chandler, Arron
and Ian; brothers and sisters, Wilma (Charles) Brewer,
LaVon Beck, Doris (Med) Ham and Kay Pyle; and other
relatives and friends. Memorials may be made to the
American Lung Association. Visitation: Friends may call
from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 7, 2004, and from noon to
1 p.m. Monday, March 8, 2004, at Dashner Funeral Home,

Harry R. Simpson, Jewett automobile salesman died of complications
Wednesday morning at the City Hospital at Dennison. He was born on
May 14, 1891 near Flushing, Ohio, the some of Thomas and Susan
Tipton Simpson. Besides his wife, Mrs. Maud Lucas, Simpson leaves
two children, Mary Elizabeth Simpson and Harry Simpson, Jr., both
at home; two brothers, Charles Simpson of Flushing and Albert Simpson
of Pittsburgh and one sister, Miss J.E.Brady of Morriston. He had
lived in Cadiz for many years, coming to Jewett two years ago. He
was a member of the Cadiz Methodist Church. Funeral services will
be held at 1:30 P.M. Friday at the home of Mrs. J.A. Lucas in
Jewett, followed with services at 2:30 P.M. at the Cadiz Methodist
Church. Burial will be made in Cadiz Cemetery.
