Notes:

not sure how/if this family ties into the rest of the LONGLEY clan in the neighboring counties. Might be connected to the Massachusetts bunch who migrated to Ohio (Cincinatti area) or maybe another of the Maryland bunch who migrated to Virginia, then Ohio. Their presence in Guernsey county in the 1840/1850 time frame puts them very close to the rest of the Longley clan.

listed in a newspaper (The Cambridge Jeffersonian, Cambridge Ohio) article (Thursday April 29, 1880) as having been an Attorney among those who practiced in the Courts of Guernsey county, since 1840, and who are now dead.

There is also a record of John B Longley marrying Ann Torkinson. Ann was born abt 1831 - that John B Longley moved to Mercer County, Illinois

The son's 1880/1900/1910/1920 census all list New York as his father's birthplace. Don't know how accurate that is, since the son was young when the father died.
