Royce I. Blackburn, 57, of 906 Broad avenue, NW, Canton, former Muskingum County resident, died Friday night at Aultman Hospital in Canton following complications from surgery. Born Sept. 29, 1913 at McCluney, Mr. Blackburn was a son of Mrs. Ada Savage Blackburn of the home and the late Bernard Blackburn. He was a resident of Canton for 19 years was was employed as an agent of the Prudential Insurance Company for 25 years. Mr. Blackburn was a member of the Church of the Savior United Methodist Church at Canton. Surviving in addition to his mother are his widow, the former Patti Lane of the home; two sons, Lane of Cleveland and Lynn of Kent. Private services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Reed Funeral Home in Canton with Rev. Kenneth L. Bowser officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. today.
