Lawrence Daniel Longley, 74, a resident of Red Bank, passed away Friday, Aug. 18, 2006, at his residence. He was the son of the late P.D. Longley and Della McDonald Longley and was preceded in death by two brothers, C.L. Longley, Mendal Longley ; and a sister, Ruth Shuster. He was of the Baptist faith and a veteran of the U.S. Army and Air Force. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Green Longley; five sons, Donnie Longley, of Red Bank, Bruce Longley, Larry Longley, Robert Longley, Stevie Longley, all of Chattanooga; 11 grandchildren ; one great-grandchild ; three sisters, Frances Norman, of Rossville, Rose Woodbury, of Charlotte, Mich., Shirley Combs, of Hixson; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Apison Baptist Church with the Rev. Marvin Quinn and the Rev. Junior Bryson officiating. Burial will follow in Plowman Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. today and Monday at the residence, 445 Lullwater Road, in Red Bank. Bessie Michaels Filtz Goodnight, 92, of Perry, formerly of Orlando and Marshall communities, died May 3, 1999. Funeral services were held May 5 in the Church of the Nazarene in Perry with burial in the Marshall IOOF South Cemetery. She was born Nov. 7, 1907 in Marshall, Oklahoma, to James Ervin and Georgia Viola Wylder Michaels. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Iva and Joe Caudle, of Owasso.
