Renva Weeks Knowles, 95, of Christiansburg, Va., passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2007. She was born near Doswell, Hanover County, Va. on June 27, 1912 and was the only daughter of the late Esper Rose and Emma Harman Weeks. She was the widow of the late Leland Albright Knowles, son of Abner James and Nina Albright Knowles. Renva was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, Moir Curtis and Edna Mantz Weeks. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Walter Reece Knowles, Estelle Simmons, Jean Peters, Frances Shelor, Maritha Handy, Lora Biggs, Elizabeth Hale and Helen Flaharity; and other relatives and friends. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Christiansburg. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, November 26, 2007 at Maberry Funeral Home with the Rev. David Goodpasture officiating. Interment to follow at Topeco Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Topeco Church of the Brethern, 3460 Floyd Hwy., South, Floyd, Va. 24091. Arrangements by Maberry Funeral Home, Inc.

James Lee Sidey, 58, of Roseland, died Nov. 16, 2000, at his residence after a prolonged illness. He was born Feb. 14, 1942, in Buckland, Ohio, and moved to Roseland 29 years ago from Wapakoneta, Ohio. Mr. Sidey was a flooring contractor. He was a Methodist. Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Jean; two daughters, Candy Elpers and Teresa Limbert, both of Roseland; four brothers and three sisters, all of Ohio; and one granddaughter. At the familys request, there will be no repose or visitation. A memorial service was to be held at a later date. Donations may be made to VNA Hospice of Indian River County, 1111 36th St., Vero Beach, Fla. 32960, in Mr. Sideys memory. Cremation services were under the direction of Indian River Cremations Inc., Vero Beach.

Mr. Frank L. Longley, 52, of Duluth and formerly of Dalton, died Friday, Feb. 3, 2006. Frank grew up in Dalton and attended Dalton Public Schools. He graduated from Woodward Academy in College Park. He attended West Georgia College and graduated from Kennesaw College. He retired from the Georgia Department of Human Resources. Frank was preceded in death by his father, Julian M. Longley Jr. He is survived by his wife, Vicki Longley of Duluth; mother, Jeannette Longley of Dalton; sister, Cathie Cash of Tallahassee, Fla.; brother and sister-in-law, Lane and Karen Longley of Tampa, Fla.; niece, Arielle Longley; nephews, Drew Longley and West Cash. Graveside services are Sunday at 1 p.m. at West Hill Cemetery with the Rev. C. Dean Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in the parish hall. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Northwest Georgia, P.O. Mrs. Julia Ann Watts, 74, of 632 Woodlawn avenue died at 9:45 Wednesday morning in Bethesda hospital where she had been a patient for nine days. She was a native of Ironton but spent most of her life in Zanesville. Surviving are three sons, Clarence of Hartwell, O., Floyd of the home and Carl of hoge avenue; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The body was take to the Putnam chapel of the Bolin-Bryan funeral home pending arrangements for services. Friends may call after 1 o'clock this afternoon.
