She was born January 28, 1929, one of 12 children, to Lewis and Betty Smith Savage. She married Oliver "Bert" Longcor on May 1, 1947, in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. He died June 25, 1978. Bonnie was a waitress at Van's Diner before becoming an Office and Medical Assistant for Dr. Yard and Dr. Lee. She was of the Protestant faith. She loved playing yahtzee, bingo and going to the casino. The family would like to give special thanks to Bobbie Tapscott and Judy Lavelle for everything they have done for the family. Survivors include two daughters, Linda (Kenneth) Harryman of Shawnee, Kansas and Shelley (Larry) Statler of Blytheville, Arkansas; a son, Randy (Debbie) Longcor of Liberty, Missouri; 15 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren with one due in August; and brothers, Dick (Gerri) Savage, Bill Savage, Bob Savage and Jim Savage. Her husband, parents and many brothers and sisters preceded her in death. Friends may call today from noon until 8:00 p.m. in Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. The funeral services for Mrs. Longcor will be Thursday, May 17th, at 10:30 a.m. in Lunning Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Frank Beaty officiating. Interment will be held in Carman Cemetery, Carman, Illinois. A memorial has been established for the American Diabetes Association fund for Children with Diabetes.

Albert Billy Layman, 78, of Stuart, died Friday, January 5, 2007 at his home. He was born in Henry County on September 9, 1928 to the late John William Layman and Lizzy Ramsey Layman Maxie. He was also preceded in death by four sisters, Hazel Carter, Georgia Lawson, Lorene Bryant, and Glenna Jones; and a brother, Edgar Layman. He was a member of Community Primitive Baptist Church and retired from DuPont after 35 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Surviving are his wife, Kathleen Knowles Layman of the home, two sons, Doug Layman of Stuart and Jeffrey Layman of the home; one daughter, Laura Layman of Stuart; one sister, Velma Handy of Stuart; two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, Haley Gillispie of Henry. Funeral services were held at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart on Sunday with Elder Lewis Vass officiating. Burial, with military honors by the Patrick County Veterans' Memorial Honor Guard, was in the Community Primitive Baptist Church cemetery. Pallbearers were Eddie Via, Howard Fain, Mark Boyer, Herman Dalton, Curtis Williams and Jimmy Hopkins.
