Billie Welhener Douglas Longley, 89, Springfield, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2007, in her home. She was a 1934 Senior High graduate and graduated in 1936 from Draughns Business College. She married Carl Douglas in 1938 in Springfield, Mo., and after his death was later married to Blaine Longley in 1953 in Corpus Christi, Texas, who also predeceased her. She was affiliated with the Church of Christ. Billie enjoyed playing bingo, reading and fishing. She was also preceded in death by parents, Wilbern and Annie Welhener; two sisters, Thelma and husband, Cecil Threadgill, and Lorraine Kuhl and husband, Carl; one brother, Raymond Douglas and wife, Elizabeth; and daughter, Marilyn Sue Douglas Reidel. Surviving her death are her five children, Robert Douglas and wife, Betty, David Douglas, Nancy Douglas Duncan, Brian Longley and wife, Michele, and Dana Longley; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a special niece, Carleen Deck. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the Community Hospices of America Team 1, Bonnie, Jenny, Jan and Charles, for their considerate care and kindness. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 24, at 1 p.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, Mo., with burial to follow in Eastlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, March 23, in the funeral home.
