ODESSA - William F. "Bill" Self, 83, of Odessa passed away Wednesday,
April 10, 2002, in Odessa. He was born July 3, 1918, in Malakoff to
Dock and Dicey Self. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday,
April 13, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Gene Self,
a nephew, officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial
Gardens. Bill served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the
Armored Division and landed in Normandy. He came to Odessa in 1947.
He had worked for several dirt contractors as a heavy equipment
operator. Bill loved to coon hunt and he raised hound dogs. He was
a Dallas Cowboy fan. His wife, Edna Marie, preceded him in death
April 25, 1994. He is survived by sons, Ronnie Self and wife Ann
of Odessa and Kenneth Self and wife Alecia of Midland; brother, Ben
Self of Colorado City; three grandchildren, Mike Self, Andy Self and
Cindy Heap; and two great-grandchildren, Noah Nunez and Chloe Heap.

Margaret Terhune, 73, Gallatin (formerly of Jamesport, Mo.), died
Thursday, May 12, 2005 at a nursing home in Gallatin. She was born
July 14, 1931 at the family home built by her grandfather, Davis
Waters, in Coffey. She was the first child of Robert E. and Gladys
Roxaine (Stewart) Waters. On August 3, 1953, she married Loren
Kenneth Terhune at Coffey Christian Church in Coffey, Mo. They
lived in the Jamesport community since 1957. Margaret was a farm
wife until they moved to town in 1991. Until 2001 she worked at the
Tri-County Weekly and The Collection. She was baptized into Coffey
Christian Church, and then transferred to Jamesport United Methodist
Church. Margaret graduated from Coffey High School in 1949 and was
Valedictorian of her class. She attended Trenton Junior College and
graduated in 1952. She taught at Cole Country School from 1952-1953.
She was pianist at the Coffey church, pianist and organist at the
Jamesport church. Survivors include two daughters, Kathleen Vanatta
and husband, Clint, and Debbie Carpenter and husband, Dennis, both
of Gallatin; sister, Mary Lou White and husband, Jim, Blythedale;
brother, Donald Waters and wife, Barbara, Macon, Mo.; four
grandchildren, Amity Carpenter Halling and her husband, Bill Dane
Carpenter, and Riley and Halle Vanatta; great-grandson, Miles
Halling. She also was preceded in death by her parents; son,
Kenneth and one nephew, Bradley Waters. Funeral services were
Saturday, May 14th at the First Christian Church, Gallatin. Burial
was in Masonic Cemetery, Jamesport.

Mrs E M Bishop Taken By Death Thursday Night
An Illness from a complication of diseases resulted in the death
of Mrs Essie M Bishop, which occurred at her home, 918 Putnam avenue,
at 10:30 o'clock Thursday night. Mrs Bishop was a member of the M.E.
church and was well known in this city. Surviving are two daughters,
the Misses Virginia and Josephine Bishop of the home.
