Sandra Sue Vonallmen, daughter of Milo Denton and Rose Parnell
Denton, was born on Oct. 17, 1949 in Thayer, and entered into Heaven
on Nov. 13, 2005 at the age of 56 years. Sandra was a resident of
the Ava community for 34 years, moving from West Plains. On April
7, 1968, Sandra and Jerry Vonallmen were united in marriage in West
Plains and to this union two daughters were born. She was a cook for
the Ava Elementary School for 15 years. Sandra was a member of the
Roy Union Church where her husband is pastor, and assisted him in his
ministry. She loved her family and cherished every moment with them.
Sandra loved singing with her daughters and husband in their
family quartet. She also loved her church family and working in
the church, singing, worshipping and praying for others. She truly
loved her Lord and her life was a living testimony for Jesus. She
will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Sandra was
preceded in death by her father, Milo Denton, and one sister, Susan
Kate Manes. Her survivors include her husband, Jerry of the home in
Ava; two daughters and their husbands, Melanie and Kelvin Whittaker,
Bradleyville, and Melinda and Robert Hall, Ava; one granddaughter,
Hailey Sue Hall; her mother, Rose (Parnell) Denton, Mammoth Springs,
Ark.; two nieces, Michelle Buchanan and Lacey Lingenfelter; and
several other family and friends. Graveside services were held at
2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, at the Ava Cemetery with the Revs. Dennis
and Ricky Vonallmen officiating. The family requests memorials be
made to Gideons International or American Cancer Society. Services
are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.

Gene V. Roe, 55, of Rose Farm died at 12:35 a.m. Wednesday (Oct 23)
in Bethesda Hospital following a three-month illness. He was born
April 14, 1913, at McLuney, a son of Edward and Anna Savage Roe. Mr.
Roe served with the Air Force in World War II. He was injured in a
coal mine accident in 1953 and was unemployed since then. He was a
member of Morgan County Disabled American Veterans. Surviving are
his widow, Rose Farm; three brothers, James Roe of Crooksville Route
2, Earl Roe of Blue Rock Route 1 and Jack Roe of Los Angeles; five
sisters, Mrs. Hazel Stiers of danville, Mrs. Hattie Quinn of
Zanesville Route 2, Mrs. Agnes Fleming of Zanesville Route 2, Mrs.
Josephine Cummings of Zanesville Route 3 and Mrs. Rebecca Peterbaugh
of new Lexington; two grandsons. Friends may call at Crooksville
Chapel of Cannon and Cannon Funeral Home after noon today.

CROOKSVILLE - Services for Gene V. Roe, 55, of Rose Farm, who died
Wednesday, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Crooksville Chapel
of Cannon and Cannon Funeral Home with Rev. Arthur Long officiating.
Burial will be in Iliff Cemetery near Crooksville. Survivors are
his widow, Ruby Roe, a son, Jerry Roe of Rose Farm; three brothers,
James of crooksville Route 2, Earl of Blue Rocke Route 1 and Jack of
Los Angeles; five sisters, Mrs. Hazel Stiers of Danville, Mrs. Hattie
Quinn of Zanesville Route 4, mrs. Agnes Fleming of Zanesville Route

HOLLIS, OKLA. - Billie Frank Longley,
79, died Tuesday, May 2, 2006. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in
Stewart Funeral Chapel with Jim Westmoreland, pastor, officiating.
Billie was born May 24, 1926, to Jess and Opel Longley in Hollis.
She worked as a cook before retiring, was a Baptist and loved all
kinds of sports, especially bowling and playing softball. Survivors
include two daughters, Dianne Moser of Cartersville, Ga., and Elaine
Hale of Amarillo, Texas; two sons, Bill Coble of Milford, Del., and
Jesse Coble of Amarillo; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren;
and three sisters, Lavena Burns of Hollis, Faye Plew of Altus and
Louise Argo of Purcell.

St. Marys - Mrs. Matilda Hunter, 81, widow of C.L. Hunter, former
St. Marys postmaster, died yesterday at Memorial Hospital here.
Mrs. Hunter is survived by a son, Robert G., St. Marys; three
grandsons; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Mae Gibson,
Jacksonville, Fla., and a half-brother, David Durnbaugh, Dayton.
She was a member of the Methodist Church and Hawthorne Chapter,
Order of the Easter Star. Funeral services are arranged for 2 p.m.
Saturday at Vore Folk Funeral Home with the Rev. W. H. Huber
officiating. Burial will take place in Elmgrove Cemetery.
