WAPAKONETA - Charles E. Sidey, 67, of Rt. 3, died at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday in Joint Township Memorial Hospital, St. Marys. He was a retired Ohio Steel Foundry employe. Born Jan. 18, 1902, in Van Wert County, he was the son of Lafayette and Mary Anderson Sidey. He was married March 18, 1934, to Flossie Marie Schaub. She survives. Also surviving are five sons, William of Rt. 2, Spencerville, Ray of Rt. 3, James of Wapakoneta, Bert of Rt. 1, and Thomas Joe, at home; three daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Fredericka) Howell of 4973 S. Dixie, Lima. Mrs. Robert (Hattie) Hirschfield of Wapakoneta and Mrs. Richard (Ruth) Vornholt of St. Marys; 11 grandchildren; and three brothers, Joe of Martinsville, Ind., Robert of Navarre, and Lavon, no address. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Bayliff and Sons Funeral Home, Cridersville. Rev. Eldon Stern officiating. Burial will be in Buckland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7:30 tonight.

Akers and is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Diane A. and Bob Tibbs of War, W.Va.; her son and daughter-in-law, David L. Akers and Shelly of Belgium; her grandchildren, Jenifer Spears and husband, Scott, Stephanie Fannin and husband, Jim, Robby Tibbs and wife, Shanna, Joshua Tibbs, Christina J. Akers-Morton and husband, Brian, Lexi Leigh Akers, Anna Isabelle Akers; her great-grandchildren, Zoe Spears, Sean Fannin, Marissa and Gaelen Fannin, Samantha N. Akers; her brother, James B. Dixon and wife, Sally of Hampton, Va.; her niece, Eloise Garland of Roanoke; sisters-in-law, Nancy Milam, Helen Akers, both of Roanoke, Mae Antel of Salem, Marion Akers of Monroeville, Pa. A funeral service will be held at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel Thursday, August 16, 2001 at 2:30 p.m. with Dr. Daniel E. Scott officiating. Interment in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.

Mrs. Bertha Culp died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Helen Baldwin, in Erin on Dec. 1st, of paralysis, aged eight-six years and six months. She left four daughters and one son.(Dec. 1895)
