FORT WORTH - Forrest "Frosty" Lowder, 85, a retired computer analyst, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, at a Fort Worth hospital. Funeral: 3:30 p.m. Monday in Greenwood Chapel. Lamar Smith will officiate. Burial: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Memorials: First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth's Television Ministry or Vitas Hospice Care, 2501 Parkview, Suite 600, Fort Worth, Texas 76102. Pallbearers: Richard Hamilton Hawrylak, Rick L. Hawrylak, Mark S. Love, Daniel Hamilton Shadle, James R. Shadle Jr. and James R. Shadle III. Honorary Pallbearers: Dan Armstrong, Weldon Bailey, Guy Buell, Therril Dodson, Richard LaBoon, "Mac" MaCaulley, Joe McLure, Leonard Martin and Jack Oliver. Forrest "Frosty" Lowder was born Sept. 2, 1916, in Mosselle, Mo. He graduated from Manitou Spring, Colorado High School in 1934, and attended the University of Illinois where he was a member of the Greek social fraternity, Delta Upsilon, class of 1940. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner for more than 60 years. He married Virginia Ann Shively in June of 1941 and served in the Armed Forces Adjutant General's Department from 1942 through 1946 in the ETO. After leaving the service, he moved to Fort Worth, where he worked for Convair for two years and subsequently joined Williamson-Dickie Manufacturing Company. Forrest was a procedures analyst with the garment company for 35 years from which he retired at the age of 70. Forrest was a member of First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth, serving on its administrative board and a member of the Twosome Class. He was active in the church's television program. Forrest Lowder was a member of the Petroleum Club of Fort Worth and the Carousel Dance Club. An avid Ham Radio Operator. He was past president of the Fort Worth Kilocycle Club and a member of the Military Amateur Radio Service. He helped with reporting many weather related emergencies. He was a boy scout master and was actively engaged in the Peewee football and baseball leagues in Fort Worth. Forrest was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia Ann Lowder; his father, Opal Hamilton Lowder; and his mother, Edna Konezski Wood. Survivors: Wife of 24 years, Helen Hamilton Lowder of Fort Worth; sons, John Forrest Lowder and wife, Lynn, of Wilmington, N.C. and Webster Shively Lowder and wife, Missy, of Waco; granddaughters, Emily Forrest Lowder, Audrey Elizabeth Lowder and Virginia Anne Lowder, all of Waco; stepchildren, Dr. and Mrs. James R. Shadle Jr. of Fort Worth, Mr. and Mrs. Rick L. Hawrylak of Katy, Mr. and Mrs. Mark S. Love of Katy; six stepgrandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandson.
