Mrs. Laura Tipton
Crooksville - Mrs. Laura Watts Tipton, 66, of Taylor street in Crooksville died at 12:30 p.m. Sunday in the Perry County Hospital in New Lexington, following a lingering illness. She was a retired decorator for the Crooksville China Company where she worked for 40 years. Born Aug. 26, 1892, she was a daughter of James and Louie Shears Watts, early residents of Clayton Township in Perry County. Mrs. Tipton was a member of the Crooksville Methodist Church and the Whiteware Union of NB and OP. She is survived by a brother, Pearl Watts of Crooksville; a sister, Mrs. Jack Wahl of Roseville and several nieces and nephews. The body is at the Cannon and Cannon Funeral Home in Crooksville where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Ralph Tucker officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Horeb Cemetery, near Crooksville. Friends may call at the home after 6 p.m. Monday.

STONE, Mary Elizabeth, 94, of Roanoke, passed away at her home, Sunday, November 14, 1993. Mrs. Stone was a longtime and faithful member of Melrose Baptist Church, where she served as a Deaconess and was a charter member of the Williamson Road Diners Club. She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest L. Stone Sr., and a son, James Lewis Stone. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Ola Stone, Roanoke; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy and Mosby Linkous, Roanoke, Betty and Thomas Minyard, Salem; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Bessie Hauer, Roanoke. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's North Chapel, 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 16, 1993, with Rev. Larry E. Sprouse officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Burial Park. Friends may call Oakey's North Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.
