BOONSBORO - Lenora Constance Harman Deavers, age 82, of North Main
Street, Boonsboro, Md., was received into the arms of her Savior
on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007. Born Nov. 9, 1924, in Mozer, W.Va., she
was a daughter of the late Bessie Greenawalt Harman and Oliver Glenn
Harman. Lenora graduated from Petersburg High School in 1942 and
received a scholarship to attend the West Virginia Beauty School
in Martinsburg, W.Va. After graduating, she worked as a beautician
in Hagerstown, Md. Lenora enjoyed serving others throughout her
life by volunteering at Reeders Memorial Home in Boonsboro and
with the Washington County Hospital Auxiliary for 38 years. She
was an active member of Mount Nebo United Methodist Church in
Boonsboro. Lenora is survived by her husband of 59 years, J.
Wesley Deavers; one daughter, Connie D. Giles and husband, Roger,
of Williamsport, Md.; three grandchildren, Barrett Giles of
Charlotte, N.C., and Benjamin Giles and Calla Giles, both of
Williamsport; one sister, Dolsey Harriman of Kingwood, W.Va.; one
brother, Glenn Harman of Fairmont, W.Va.; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Curtis T. Harman and
wife, Violet, and Marvin Earl Harman and wife, Mary Jane; and two
sisters, Sarah Mallow and husband, Lee, and Juanita Sponaugle and
husband, Calvin. The family will receive friends at Bast Funeral
Home in Boonsboro on Thursday, Feb. 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral
services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Mount Nebo United Methodist
Church in Boonsboro. The Rev. Robert G. Brennan Jr. and the Rev.
Dr. James Swecker will officiate. Burial will be in Kline Cemetery,
Kline, W.Va., at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18. The Rev. Richard Longbon
will officiate. The family requests the omission of flowers.

Auxiliary Memorial Fund, 251 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown, MD 21740;
Mount Nebo United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 134 S. Main St.,

EMMETT HOOPER DIES SUDDENLY
Emmett Hooper, 46, a well known resident of Zanesville, died
suddenly at the home of his mother, MRs. Win Wymer, 158 West Main
street early Saturday morning from heart disease. Mr. Hooper had
engaged in the restaurant business for many years. Surviving him
are three children; Harry and Leonard of the home; Mrs. Florence
Oswald of this city; his mother, Mrs. Wymer and following
half-brothers and sisters, Charles, Emmett and Howard Wymer, of
the home and Mrs. Clare Huffman of 725 Ridge Avenue. The body
was taken to the Dean Funeral home and later removed to the home
of his sister, Mrs. Huffman where the funeral services will be
held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon with Rev. J. I. Moore
officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery.
