ZANESVILLE -- James "Catfish" Hunter, 92, of 1910 Ridge Ave., died at 1:40 a.m. Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, at his residence. Born April 15, 1912, in Athens County, he was a taxi driver for Yellow Cab and an avid card player. Surviving are sons, Fred Hunter of Nashport and Ronald (JoAnn) Hunter of Zanesville; a daughter, Janice Klinehoffer of Zanesville; a sister-in-law, Doretta Spinks; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Hunter, who died March 6, 2001; his parents, John and Maggie Mason Hunter; a son, James E. Hunter; brothers, Clarence, Ralph and Elmer Hunter; a sister, Grace Gladman of Zanesville. Calling hours will be 10 to 11 a.m. today, at DeLong-Baker & Lanning Funeral Home, 56 S. Fifth St. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. today, Nov. 10, 2004, at Woodlawn Cemetery with Pastor Bob Beam officiating.
