GOULD, Okla. - A car-pickup collision about a mile west of Gould on U.S. 82 at 10 a.m. Sunday resulted in the death of three persons. Mrs. Doris Sue Meason, 37, Mrs. Carolyn Sue Cleaton, 20, of Johnson City, Tex., were dead on arrival at Harmon Memorial Hospital in Hollis. W. D. Payne, 41, of Gould, driver of the pickup, burned to death after his truck overturned and caught fire. The Payne vehicle was going east and was passing another car when it collided head-on with the Meason auto, according to State Trooper Bill Lambert of Hollis. ..... Arrangements for Mrs. Meason are pending with the Tims-Barnett Funeral Home of Hollis. She is survived by her husband, C. S. Meason, Jr.; sons, Mark and Donny Paul Meason of Gould, and her parents, Mr and Mrs. Jess Longley of Hollis.... The deaths were the first traffic fatalities recorded this year in Harmon County.

He was a lifetime member of the Masons, Shriners, Knights of Pythias, Odd Fellows & Moose Lodge & the Damatic Order of Knight of Korssan. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Bill Merritt Chapel, Bethany.

SHORT - Selma Magdaline, 90, of OKC, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 1990. Services will be at 1pm, Thursday in the Bill Merritt Chapel, with interment in Memorial Park Cemetery. Selma was born to William and Martha Kiespert, November 30, 1899 at Guthrie. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. Mrs. Short was a seamstress at Oklahoma Furniture for 34 years. She was a member of the Pythian Sisters, the Nomads of Aomads of Avrudaka, the Rebekahs, the Daughters of the Nile, and the Women of the Moose. She leaves to mourn her passing a son, Clement Harris of OKC; 4 daughters, Clara Walz of St Petersburg, FL, Sherree Phelps of OKC, Sue Davidson and Ruth Wadatz both of California; a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
