FORT WORTH - Eloise M. Snodgrass Adkison, 87, our loving mother, grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008. Celebration of life: 2 p.m. Friday at Birdville Baptist Church. Visitation: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the church. Eloise was born Nov. 4, 1920, to the late N.A. and Denara Griffing in Hubbard. She was an employee of the Birdville school district, where she was a nutritionist. She also served as board president while she was employed there. She was a lifelong Christian and an active member of Birdville Baptist Church for many years. Eloise was preceded in death by her first husband, Ray H. Snodgrass; second husband, H.L. Adkison; two sons, Steve and Chris Snodgrass; and great-grandson, Justin Jones. Survivors: Sons, Nick Snodgrass and wife, Peggy, and Philip Snodgrass; daughter, Beverly Stroud and husband, Arvin; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Eugene Griffing; and sisters, Opal Middlebrooks and Ruth Hinds.
