SHAWNEE -- Barbara Jo "Mrs. E" Eppley, 72, of Shawnee, passed away Friday, Dec. 17, 2004, at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster. Born Oct. 5, 1932, in Zanesville , the daughter of the late Samuel and Bernice (Farmer) Lighthizer, Mrs. E was a cook for several years at Shawnee Elementary School and an employee of Wohrle Carry-Out. Surviving are daughters Marlene Brooks of Groveport and Connie (David) Underwood of Plato, Mo.; sons Jody (Cheryle) Eppley of Rockbridge, Doug Eppley of Shawnee, Rob (Michele) Eppley of Lexington, Ky., and Randy (Cheryl) Eppley of Adamsville; brothers Jerry and Larry Lighthizer; grandchildren Jermey, Richard, Jason, Robert , Jessica, Joey, Krystal and Tyler, six great-grandchildren and two special buddies, Boogie and Roc. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald R. Eppley, and a grandson, Josh Eppley. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today and anytime Monday at the J.E. Humphrey Funeral Home, 118 W. Walnut St., Shawnee, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Ed Harding officiating. Burial will be in Shawnee Cemetery.

DECATUR (Staff) - Final rites for Mrs. Tursia Taylor White, 76, of Decatur, were held Saturday in the Decatur Church of Christ with Bill Stewart, minister, and Ed Bryant of San Marcos officiating. Born in Aububon on Jan 29, 1882, Mrs. White had lived in Decatur since 1944. She had been ill for a year. Mrs. White died at 1:45 p.m. Thursday in a Decatur hospital and was buried in Bowie's Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Decatur's Christian Funeral Home. Survivors include four sons; Lloyd Longley, Cecil Longley, Herman Longley and Jess W. White, all of Wichita Falls, two daughters; Mrs. W. L. Arnold of Decatur and Mrs. Floyd Arnold of Bowie, two sisters; Mrs. Jim Black of Weslaco and Mrs. Clyde Barrick of Vashti; one brother, Dallas Crabtree of Brownwood, 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

H. Carl Watts Taken By Death at Adams Mills
H. Carl Watts, aged 46, died at his home in Adams Mills Friday night at 11 o'clock from peritonitis. He became seriously ill while at work Thursday. he was born August 22, 1885, at Adams Mills, where he spent his entire life. He was the son of the late Howard and Sarah Watts. Mr. Watts was a member of Moose Lodge at Coshocton. He was married to Miss Georgianna Nichols in May, 1931, by Rev. Carpenter of Zanesville. Surviving are the widow, one brother, Theodore Watts of Trenton, Iowa; one sister, Mrs. Uriah Slaughter of Willowbrook, California; six nephews and nine nieces. Funeral services will be conducted at the late home Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock by Rev. Carpenter. Burial will be made in the Adams Mills Cemetery.
