John Savage, 88, of McConnelsville, Dies at Hospital
McConnelsville - John Savage, 88, of McConnelsville, died at 12:30
o'clock this morning at Bethesda hospital, Zanesville. He was admitted
to the hospital Thursday afternoon to receive treatment for
pneumonia. Mr. Savage, who would have observed his 89th birthday
on Tuesday, had made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Ethel Anderson,
since the death of his wife a number of years ago. Surviving are four
daughters, Mrs Anderson, Mrs George Rudolph, and Mrs Alice Savage,
all of McConnelsville, and Mrs Erma Founts of Cleveland: two sons,
William Savage, of McConneslville, and Dr Gordon Savage of Xenia, and
a brother George Savage of McConnelsville. The body has been
removed to the Fisher funeral home here.

John Savage of Morgan County Dies in Hospital
McConnelsville, O., Jan. 9 - John Savage, 89, who made his home with
his daughter, Mrs Ethel Anderson, in McConnelsville, died at Bethesda
Hospital, about 12:30 o'clock, Friday morning, after a few days
illness from pneumonia. He was taken to the hospital Thursday
afternoon. He was born near Hooksburg, Morgan county and spent his
early life in that vicinity, but for many years has been a resident
of McConnelsville. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs Alice Savage,
Mrs Etta Rudolph and Mrs Ethel Anderson, all of McConnelsville, and
Mrs Erma Fouts, of Cleveland and two sons William Savage of
McConnelsville and Dr Gordon Savage of Xenia; seventeen
grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and one brother, George
Savage, of McConnelsville. Funeral services willb e held at the
Grace Methodist church at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, with Rev L S Wees
officiating. Burial will be in McConnelsville cemetery. The body
is resting at the Fisher funeral home.

SOUTH HADLEY -- Joanne Patricia Longley, 45, of South Hadley,
formerly of Conway and Northampton, died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006,
at home. She was born in Baltimore, MD, May 27, 1960, the daughter
of Ralph W. and Dorothy (Leonard) Longley) She moved to Massachusetts
at an early age and graduated from Mohawk Trail Regional High School
in Buckland. Joanne went on to receive an AS in business
administration from Holyoke Community College and a BA in
psychology from Westfield State College. She was employed for 13
years at the Department of Revenue, Child Support Enforcement in
Springfield. This career was ideal for her because she was able to
help children. Her greatest loves were her daughter, her cat and
finding a good sale. Hang in there baby. We love you, heart n'
might, and we know you are peacefully looking down on us. Survivors
besides her mother of Northampton, include her daughter, Jessica
Marie of South Hadley; four brothers, Stephen of Greenfield, Morris
of Colrain, Ernest of Northampton and Gary and his wife Ann of West
Springfield; two nieces, Laura Longley of Holyoke and Megan Longley
of Augusta, ME, and one nephew, Donald Longley of Abilene, TX. A
memorial service will be held Friday, Feb. 3, at 2 p.m. at the
Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home in Shelburne Falls. There will be a
calling hour at the funeral home from 1 p.m. to time of service.

Allen Leroy Savage, 64, of Burlington, died at 8:20 a.m. Friday,
June 1, 2001, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born Aug. 27, 1936, in Burlington, he was the son of Pearl and
Nellie P. Robbins Savage. He married Patsy R. Newman on June 15,
1974, in Kahoka, Mo. Mr. Savage worked at Leopold Desk for 10
years and at the Casket Factory for eight years. He enjoyed
fishing, his cats, tending his rose and flower gardens. Survivors
include his wife; one son, Joseph E. Savage of Burlington; four
daughters, Mary Lou Savage, Crystal Savage and Gail Savage, all of
Burlington, and Martha Sue Bates of Bristow, Okla.; one brother,
Lyle Savage of Cedar Rapids; one sister, Janet Wiemann of
Burlington; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many
nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one
brother, one sister, one son and one granddaughter. There will be
no formal visitation. The graveside committal service for Mr.
Savage will be at 11 a.m. today in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A
memorial has been established.

There are three girls in the 1820 household under 10 yrs of age.
Anderson Hunter and Mary Graves were married in 1812 and
Nancy was born 1813, Jane - 1816, Anderson Jr - 1824; there is a
eight year gap between Jane and Anderson Jr. I'm assuming at least
one child was born in that gap and the 1820 census supports a daughter.
Since she doesn't appear to be in the 1830 census, I'm assuming she
died before then.
