Mrs. Myrtle Longley, 83, died at 12:30 a.m. today at 1340 North 2d after a long illness. She had been living in Abiline with a daughter, Mrs. Maude E. Cole, 3118 South 7th. Mrs. Longley was born in San Saba on Oct. 25, 1862. Survivods (sic) are her daughter; three brothers, J. W. Dockery, and Henry Dockery, both of Killeen, and A. R. Dockery of Killen; two sisters, Mrs. Ferd Hall of Killeen, and Mrs. Lillie Bailey of Coleman; and three grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are incomplete in Elliott's funeral home.

Funeral was to be held at Elliott's chapel at 4 this afternoon for Mrs. Mary Longley, 83, a widow of the Texas revolution of 1836, who died here Friday morning. Paul C. Witt was to officiate, with burial scheduled in a local cemetery. Mrs. Longley was born in San Saba, Oct, 25, 1862. Her husband, Campbell Longley, joined Sam Houston's army on the day after the battle of San Jacinto. In 1942, Mrs. longley was one of four surviving widows of Gen. Houston's fighters still receiving a quarterly pension by act of the legislature of 1885. The Texas Centennial paid tribute to her and another widow of the Texas revolution Nov. 15, 1936, designating that day to honor them.
