Raymond Braddy Thomason III, 18, of 409 Emerald Lake Drive,
Lumberton, NC, died Monday, June 30, 2003, at Wilson Memorial
Hospital in Wilson, NC. Memorial Service will be at 3:00 p.m.,
Monday, July 7, 2003, at First Presbyterian Church in Lumberton,
NC. The Rev. Sam Warner and Rev. Ian Rankin officiating. Burial
will be private. Raymond was born on December 2, 1984, in
Cumberland County. Surviving are his father, Raymond Braddy
Thomason Jr. of Lumberton, NC; his mother, Timothy Thomason Webb
formerly of Lumberton, now residing in Kill Devil Hills, NC; a
brother, Beaumont York Thomason of Lumberton, NC; his paternal
grandparents Raymond Braddy Thomason, Sr. and Fannie Longley
Thomason both of Fayetteville, NC; and his maternal grandmother
Ruth Pharr Faucette of Roper, NC. Raymond graduated Summa Cum
Laude from Lumberton High School. He was a North Carolina Scholar
and a member of the Beta Club. He was planning to attend North
Carolina State University in the fall. In lieu of flowers, memorials
can be made to: Beth-Carr Presbyterian Church in Tar Heel, NC. The
family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2003,
at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street in
Lumberton, NC.

WOOD COUNTY, OHIO. - 1159
SAMUEL HYTER, of Bloomdale, has accomplished satisfactory work as a
farmer, and, having acquired a competency to live on in his
declining years, has retired from the business to make room for
younger blood, required in the active life of a farmer. He was
born in what is now Carroll county, Md., July 22, 1826.
His father, Jacob Hyter; was also a native of Maryland, where
he married Margaret Koontz, and to them were born the following
children: Elias, who was known as the "lame schoolmaster," being
crippled from white swelling from the age of three years;
Ephraim, a farmer of Henry county, Ohio, who died in March, 1895;
Alice, who became the wife of John Longley (after whom the station
on the Ohio Central railroad was named), and died in Seneca county,
Ohio. Susan, who married Hezekiah Dern, in Maryland, and died in
Fostoria, Ohio; Catherine, now Mrs. Samuel Shunk, who resides near
Westminster, Md,; Julia A., who first wedded G. W. Crabb, but is
now the widow of John Conley, and lives in Hillsdale county, Mich. ;
Jacob, who died at the age of three years; Margaret, now Mrs. David
E. Coe, of Perry township, Wood county; Samuel; Abraham, of Bradner,
Ohio; and William, a farmer of Clinton township, Seneca county. The
parents. were both of German descent, and spoke that language very
readily, but the children never learned it.
