Charles Lorian Savage, 49, of Crooksville, died at 11 a.m. Saturday
(March 30) at his home following a brief illness. He was born in
Crooksville June 18, 1918. He was a son of Frank and Pearl Sanborn
Savage. He had long been a land appraiser for the state of Ohio but
for the past year had been employed by Hull Pottery in Crooksville.
He attended Crooksville First Methodist Church and was a veteran of
World War II, serving in the European theater. His father survives,
as do his widow, the former Mary Moulton; four daughters, Janice and
Cheryl of the home, Mrs. Mary Ruth Wheeler of Crooksville and Mrs.
Patricia Davis of Zanesville; two sons, Kevin and Larry of the home;
two sisters, Mrs. Betty Johnson and Mrs. Colleen Crain of Crooksville;
two brothers, Lyle of Crooksville and Frank of 1438 Indiana street
and one grandson. Friends may call at Fred L. Cannon and Sons
Funeral Home in Crooksville after 3 p.m. Sunday. Services will be
held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Earse Mauler
officiating. Burial will be in Iliff Cemetery near McLuney.

Mrs. Fern H. Twyman, 81, of 2255 Old River Road, died at 9:45 pm
Saturday at her home. She was born October 24, 1900 in Zanesville,
the daughter of Ralph and Lola Hall Beatty, and was a member of
St. Thomas Catholic Church. Mrs. Twyman's husband, Chester D.,
died August 6, 1962 and her son, Donald D., died November 19, 1978.
Surviving are two grandchildren, Mrs. Howard (Peggy) Zwelling of 728
Lenox Avenue and David Daniel Twyman of the home; four great
grandchildren; one brother, Ralph Beatty of Mockingbird Hill road
and a sister, Mrs. Ruth Fairall of Nashport. Friends may call from
2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm today at Hillis Funeral Home, where the Rosary
will be recited at 7:30pm today. Funeral mass will be at 10 am
Tuesday in St. Thomas Catholic Church. Burial will be in Woodlawn
Cemetery.

Dalton Ga, April 13 - (Special) - James W Longley, one of the oldest
and best known citizens of this county died suddenly at 3 o'clock
this afternoon. He was returning in his buggy froma visit to his
sons when he was stricken and was found dead in his buggy on South
Thornton avenue. He was a brother of Judge F. M. Longley of
LaGrange, Jasper Longley, H Longley, and H G Longley of this city.
His sisters are Mrs. Senter and Mrs. C McCan of Chattanooga. He was
the father of Judge J A Longley of this city. He was 78 years old.
