ROWELL, Frances Ellen Knowles, 72, of Huntsville, Ala., and
formerly of Christiansburg, died Thursday, January 11, 2001. The
daughter of the late Henry Edgar and Willie Walters Knowles, she was
also preceded in death by her husband, Harold V. Rowell. She is
survived by two sons, Douglass Harold Rowell of Gurley, Ala., Donald
C. Rowell of Huntsville, Ala.; and two grandsons. Funeral services will
be 11 a.m. Monday, January 15, 2001, at the graveside in Sunset
Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Doug Kanney. The family will receive
friends from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday morning at the Horne Funeral
Service, Christiansburg.

NEW LEXINGTON -- Betty J. Munyan, 86, passed away Thursday, Sept. 13,
2007, at Sunbridge Care Center. She was born May 4, 1921, in
Zanesville. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in New
Lexington and a former employee of Burd's Greenhouse in New
Lexington. She is survived by her beloved husband, William E.
Munyan; her daughters, Phyllis A. (Wayne) Pettit and Mary L.
(William) Farmer of Newark; and a son, Richard L. (Betty) Munyan of
New Lexington; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a
brother, Robert (Ruth) Heslop of White Cottege; and sisters, Dorothy
(Kenneth) Urban and Evelyn (Robert) Poland of Zanesville She was
preceded in death by her parents, Everett H. and Laurie Darr Heslop;
stepmother, Ann Heslop; and her grandson, Jason Munyan Calling
hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, at
the Chute-Wiley Funeral Home, 118 S. Jackson St., in New Lexington.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007, at
United Pentecostal Church, corner of Kennedy Avenue and Tile Plant
Road in New Lexington, with visitation one hour prior to the
services. The Rev. H. Richard Young will officiate. Burial will
follow in Rehoboth Cemetery.
