Larry M. Harmer, 18, 0f 3100 Ridge road, an inmate of Mansfield Reformatory took his own life Monday morning by hanging in his cell, it was reported by Robert White, superintendent of the Reformatory. White said Harmer used a bed sheet and hanged himself to a towel rack. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Mansfield General Hospital. Harmer was sentenced to the reformatory last Nov 5 in Common pleas Court to one to five years on charges of breaking and entering and grand theft. Reformatory officials said he was scheduled to be transferred Monday to the Lebanon Correctional Institution. Harmer was born March 14, 1956, in Zanesville a son of Larry E Harmer of 2347 Maple Avenue and Mrs. Naomi Williamson Morrison of the home. Surviving in addition to his parents are his step-father, Roy Morrison of 3100 Ridge road; a half-brother, Tommy Harmer, a step-sister, Karen Botts and his grandfather, Henry D. Harmer, all of 2347 Maple avenue. The body was taken to DeLong and Baker Funeral Home where friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
