Death Claims Robert Shockley
Crooksville, Feb 15 - Robert Shockley, 58, of Crooksville, died at
10 o'clock last night at Bethesda hospital where he was admitted a
few hours earlier. Mr. Shockley was born and reared in Zanesville
and moved to Crooksville following his marriage. He was employed
at the Boy's Industrual school at Lancaster. He was formerly a
member of the Crooksville fire department for a number of years.
Mr. Shockley was a member of the Peerless Lodge No. 91. F. & A. M.,
the Eastern Star No. 239, Starlight chapter, the Scottish Rite, the
Eagles Lodge of Zaneville, the American Legion at Lancaster and the
Burnt Corkers of Lancaster. He was a veteran of World War I.
Surviving are his widow, Ruby of the home; one step-son, James
Alexander of Crooksville; his stepfather, Frank Burns of Zanesville
Rt. 6; and two grandchildren, Johnny and Beverly Alexander of
Crooksville. The body was removed to the Cannon and Cannon funeral
home here and was later taken to the residence at 256 West Main
street. It will be returned to the funeral home for services at 1
o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Rev. M. R. Harrison of Lancaster will
officiate. Burial will be in the Crooksville cemetery. The Peerless
Lodge, F. & A. M. will coduct memorial rites at 7:30 o'clock Monday
evening.

Nancy Ferrell Watts, 54, died Aug. 2, 2003 at her home. She was born
in Crooksville, Ohio, and had lived in Hastings for 21 years. She was
a RN and had worked many years in nursing and most recently was
director of nursing. She was a member of Christ United Methodist
Church, Hastings. She was preceded in death by her brother: Royal
Spung. She is survived by her husband: Paul Watts, Hastings;
daughters: Holly Weaver, Hastings; Cynthia Watts Skinner,
Tallahassee; son: Paul Watts II, Los Angeles, Calif.; mother; Betty
Spung, Roseville, Ohio; sisters: Melanie Hammer, Edwater; Pamela
Luman, Roseville, Ohio; brothers: John Spung and Mark Spung,
Crooksville, Ohio; and five grandchildren. Friends called from
5-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 4 at Craig Funeral Home, St. Augustine.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5 at Christ United
Methodist Church, Hastings. Burial will follow in Pellicer Creek.
Craig Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
