Audrey Marie Dillinger, the daughter of Jeffrey Dean and Loretta Lynn (Lawrence) Dillinger of Murray, was stillborn Oct. 18, 2000, at Des Moines General Hospital. Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 21, at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola with the Rev. Dennis Shepherd officiating. Burial was at Peru Cemetery. She was preceded in death by seven great-grandparents and three great-great-grandparents. She is survived by her parents; two brothers, Brandon and Dylan Lawrence of Murray; a sister, Rosemary Hunt of Tecumseh, Neb.; grandparents, Dick and Raedene Dillinger and Fred and Loretta Solt, all of Lorimor, Larry Post and January Shepherd of Cumberland and Cleo Post of Creston; Great-grandparents, Johneta Horner of Des Moines, Richard and Lois Dillinger of Peru and Bea Shepherd of Osceola; and great-great-grandparents, Verl and Inez Dillinger of Peru.

James D Phillips, 85, Dies;, Veteran of War With Spain.
Thinning ranks of Spanish-American War veterans lost another member yesterday (Sept 9) with the death of James D Phillips of Columbus, formerly of Zanesville. Mr. Phillips, who spent two years and eight months in the Phillipines, died at 4 a.m. in Riverside Memorial Hospital, Columbus, of a heart conditions. He was 85. He had been ill two weeks. He lived at 287 Leland avenue, Columbus. Mr. Phillips came to Zanesville in 1906 and for 12 years was employed as a street car conductor and motorman. He then joined the police force of the Mark Manufacturing Co., which operated the tube mill in lower Putnam. When the plant closed, he was appointed a guard at the Roseville Brick Yard, a branch of Ohio Penitentiary. He was later assigned to the Junction City branch and in 1935 moved to Columbus when he was transferred to Ohio Penitentiary, where he served as a guard until he retired in 1956 at the age of 74. He was born Aug 6, 1882, near Atlanta, Ga. He came to Ohio after the War with Spain and settled in the Derwent area, south of Cambridge, where he worked as a coal miner. Shortly after his marriage to Cora B Longley he moved to Zanesville. On June 17, Mr. and Mrs. Phillips observed their 62nd wedding anniversary. Surviving in addition to the widow are five daughter, Mrs Herbert (Jaunita) Carney of 76 East Main street, South Zanesville; Mrs. Raymond (Geneva) Diehl of 1239 Seborn avenue, Mrs. Howard (Virginia) Spencer of 1090 Griffiths drive, Mrs. Octa Kessel of Sun City, Calif., and Mrs Ralph (Dorothy) Taylor of Columbus. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. The body was removed to the Blue Avenue Chapel of Bolin Funeral Home where friends may call from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 p.m. today and Monday. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and the funeral home with the Rev. William R Lutz officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
