Hazel I. (North) Van Osdol, 85, Lawrence, died Friday, Sept. 9, 2005, at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor. She was born March 27, 1920, in La Crosse to George H. and Inez D. (Showalter) North. She married Perry H. Van Osdol on Dec. 4, 1938, in La Crosse. He died Oct. 22, 2001. She was a homemaker. Survivors include two sons, Perry Van Osdol, Jr., Overland Park, and Jerry Van Osdol, Carmichael, Calif.; two daughters, Sherry Eales, Lawrence, and Mary Rich, Alton, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Brock's North Hill Chapel, Hays; burial in La Crosse Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the chapel in Hays. Memorials are suggested to the Dogs for the Deaf, 70175 Wheeler Rd., Central Point, OR 97502 or may be sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th, Lawrence, KS 66044.

On June 14, 2003, Dilek Sarafis emerged from the cocoon of this flesh and now stands in the fullness of the glory of the Father. Dilek is the daughter of Charlen Bour who faithfully folds, seals, stamps and mails this newsletter every month. She is known to many on the mailing list and it is appropriate that we remember her here. Dilek and her husband John have been so supportive of our feeble efforts, but that is just a hint of how much they have touched the lives of others. Dilek suffered with numerous health problems for years and the faithfulness of her family in caring for her has inspired and blessed many of us. Even in her protracted illness, Dilek's life of faith ministered to others in ways too numerous to even mention. With her family, we share the loss of her physical presence but we rejoice in the assurance that she now dwells with her Creator and King.

Mrs Marion Walpole Dies at Hospital
Mrs Margaret Walpole, 56, wife of Marion Walpole, of Adamsville road, died Wednesday evening at Bethesda hospital following a lingering illness. She was born at McConnelsville and moved to Zanesville, 25 years ago. Mrs Walpole was a member of the Market Street Baptist church. Surviving in addition to her husband are a son; Pvt Walter Walpole, stationed at Camp Wolters, Texas, a daughter, Mrs Eleanor Snider of Coopermille Manor, and her father, James Savage, of the home. The body has been removed to the Trimmer funeral home, Maple and Adair avenues.

Funeral services for Mrs Marion Walpole, 56, of the Adamsville road, who died Wednesday evening at her home, were held Saturday afternoon at the Trimmer funeral home, with Rev L S Snell officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn. Surviving are her husband, a son, Pvt Walter Walpole, stations at Camp Wolters, Tex.; a daughter, Mrs Eleanor Snider of Coopersville Manor, and her father, James Savage, of the home.
