Soulsbyville resident Loicene Edith Walker died Monday at her home.
She was 73. She was born in Visalia, Tulare County, and had lived
in Soulsbyville for four years. She worked as a bookkeeper for Bank
of America in Porterville. She later worked as a food service
director for Camp Oakhurst, a camp for children and adults in
Oakhurst, for many years. She worked at a grocery store deli for
seven years and as a baker for a bakery, both in Oregon. She is
survived by her husband of 54 years, George Walker of Soulsbyville;
sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney Lee and Pamela Walker of Portland,
Ore., Steven Dwane and Cheryl Walker of Porterville and Glen Michael
and Rebecca Walker, and Gregory Charles and Lynn Renee Walker, all of
Twain Harte; a brother, Kenneth Longley of Los Angeles; sisters,
Roberta Walker and Lola Moe, both of Santa Maria; and grandchildren,
Ryan Travis, Daniel and his wife, Jennifer, Erin Edith, Joel Robert,
Christina Jolene, Megan Marie, Lauren Elizabeth, James Richard and
Nicolas Robert Walker. A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m.
tomorrow at Sierra Bible Church in Sonora. A second memorial service
is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Valley Oak Community Church in
Porterville. Donations can be made in her memory to Visiting Nurse
Association, Hospice of the Sierra, P.O. Box 4805, Sonora, CA 95370
or Promise Land Building Fund, in care of Sierra Bible Church, 15171
Tuolumne Road, Sonora, CA 95370. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is
handling arrangements.
