W Jack Pitts, 80, of 470 Moore Ave, died at 12:35 a.m. Monday at
Bethesda Hospital where he had been a patient for 11 days. A
retired carpenter, Mr. Pitts was born Dec 9 1896 in Zanesville
and had been a lifelong resident of Muskingum County. He was
married Feb 8, 1926 to the former Alice Williams who survives.
Also, he was an Army veteran of World War I and was a member of
New Life Temple. Three brothers are dead. Surviving in addition
to his widow are a son, Robert J Pitts of 6495 Adamsville Rd, two
granddaughters Jacque and Lisa Pitts, a sister Mrs. Helen Moore of
Chandlersville Rd. and a brother Fred, of Alden, NY. Funeral
services will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Shirer and Son Funeral Home
in Adamsville with burial in Chandlersville Cemetery. Friends
may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Hollis, Okla - Funeral services for Mrs. Jesse (Opal) Longley, 64,
who died the day after her husband's funeral, were to be at 2:30 p.m.
today in the First Baptist Church. The Rev. Bob Worley, pastor, was
to officiate. Burial was to be in Fairmount Cemetery by Coley
Funeral Home. Mr. Longley, a retired farmer, died Saturday and his
services were here Monday. Mrs. Longley died early Tuesday at her
home. A longtime Hollis resident, she was a member of the First
Baptist Church. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Fay Wilson
of Altus, Mrs. Louis Argo of Purcell, Miss Billie Longley of Claude,
Tex., and Mrs. Lavena Burns of Norwalk, Calif.; two sons, Max of
Hollis and Don of Oklahoma City; three sisters, Mrs. Ruth May of
Levelland, Tex., Mrs. Ted Hightower of Childress, Tex., and Mrs.
A. B. McMillion of Forestburg, Tex.; two brothers, George Fillpot
of Lamesa, Texas., and Charles Fillpot of 5145 Bonham in Amarillo;
15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Mrs Retta Wymer Funeral Tuesday
Funeral services for Mrs Retta Wymer, 79, will be held at 2 o'clock
Tuesday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs Clare Huffman of
1110 West Main street, with Rev C M Laing officiating. Burial will
be held in Woodlawn. Mrs Wymer died Sunday morning at the home of
her daughter, Mrs Huffman, following a year's illness. She was a
native of Morgan county but had lived in this county for the past
several years. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian
church. Surviving are her husband, Winfield Wymer; a son, Ernest
Wymer of Main street; a daughter, Mrs Huffman, at whose home she
died; two brothers, James and Arthur Savage, both of this city; two
sisters, Mrs Virgie Omen and Mrs Bertha Harmon, both of this city;
four grandchildren, Leonard, Harry and Florence Hooper and Roland
Wymer; three great grand children and one great great grandchild.
The body has been removed to the home of the daughter from the
Trimmer funeral home.

BRIDGEPORT - Agnes Whatley of Bridgeport died Saturday in a
Bridgeport nursing home. She was 88. Funeral will be at 2 p.m.
Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport. Burial
will be in Thomas Cemetery in Wise County. Mrs. Whatley was born
in Bridgeport. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. Survivors: Son,
Lawrence Whatley of Dale; brother, James Walker of Bridgeport; two
sisters, Mary Green of Bridgeport and Minnie McPherson of Bowie; and
two grandchildren.

BRIGHAM CITY - Elethia "Lee" Longley, 85, passed away on Thursday,
December 9, 2004, at her home in Brigham City, Utah. She was born
on February 24, 1919, in Utica, New York, a daughter of James Thomas
and Gertrude Spohn Williams. Lee married her sweetheart, Cam Longley
on June 18, 1938, in Utica, New York. He preceded her in death on
February 13, 2001. She was a member of the Civic Improvement Club,
Elks Wives' Club and the National Outlaw & Lawman Association. Lee
enjoyed playing bridge, knitting, travel, and was an avid reader and
writer. Surviving are two daughters, Josephine (Jo) Heck, City
Island, New York; Jeanne Longley, Portland, Oregon; seven
grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and two great great
grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Anne
Meeker and one sister, Shirl Meeker. A memorial service was held
on Sunday, December 12, at the Gillies Funeral Chapel, Brigham City.
Inurnment will be at a later date in the Cadet Chapel at the United
States Military Academy, West Point. In lieu of flowers the family
requests donations to be made to the Shriners Hospital, Fairfax Road
and Virginia, Salt Lake City, Utah 84103. You may email condolences
