MEDICINE LODGE - Ronald "Ron" Wayne Winter, 67, died Dec. 13, 2004, at Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital. He was born July 27, 1937, at Sharon, the son of Henry and Gayle Louthan Winter. A lifetime resident of Barber County, he worked for the National Gypsum Co., retiring after 40 years of service. He belonged to Trinity Lutheran Church, Medicine Lodge. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Germany and France. On Nov. 15, 1975, he married Kay Johnson at Medicine Lodge. She survives. Other survivors include: a stepdaughter, Jean Beeman and husband, David, Mesa, Ariz.; two stepgrandsons, Christopher and Jeffery Beeman, Phoenix, Ariz.; a stepgranddaughter, Chystin Beeman; a brother, Allen and his wife, Nancy, Mulvane; and a sister, Vickie Scarbrough and husband, Jerry, Tampa, Fla. He was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Lentz. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Medicine Lodge, with Pastor Dennis Fangmeyer presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, both at Larrison Funeral Home, Medicine Lodge. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge. Memorials may be sent to Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital or Trinity Lutheran Church, both in care of the funeral home.

J S Longley, 78, Of Colorado Dead. Burial Slated at Lometa Today
Colorado, April 15 - Funeral was held at Kiker chapel in Colorado Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock for J. S. Longley, 78, who died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. J. C. Hooker, early Friday morning after a long illness. The Rev. O. E. Jameson of First Methodist church and Woodie Holden of the Church of Christ offiated. The body is to be carried overland Santurday for a second service and burial at Lometa Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Mr. Longley's wife, who died in 1928, is buried at Lometa. Mr. Longley was born in Old Evergreen, Washington (Now Lee) County, Texas, on Jan. 21, 1859. He was reared in Bell county and was married to Elvira Draper in Florence, Texas, in 1881. He came to Colorado to live shortly after her death. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Hooker of Colorado, Claudia Longley and Mrs. Jack Brashear of Houston, Mrs. H R. Standefer of Koperal, and Mrs. Neal Masterson of Brazoria; two sons, J J Longley of Lubbock and Dewey Longley of Andrews; a brother, A. C. Longley of San Saba.

Mrs. Clover Keith Knowles, 90, a resident of the Homewood Retirement Center, Frederick, died Sunday, April 28. She was the wife of Abner Luther Knowles who predeceased her on Feb. 27, 1985. Born May 30, 1900, in Willis, Va., she was a dather of the late Alvin P. and Eliza Mayberry Keith. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Frederick. Years ago she taught Normal School in Virginia. She was later associated with her husband in the operation of Knowles Real Estate in Frederick. She was the last of her immediate family. Surviving are one daughter, Elizabeth K. Hale of Frederick; one granddaughter, Holly H. Frederick of Minot, N.D.; three grandchildren, James E. Brydon, Amanda J. Brydon and Joshua J. Brydon, all of Minot; many nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her son, A. Luther Knowles Jr. on March 30, 1941. Mrs. Knowles is at the Frederick funeral home of Robert E. Dailey & Son, 1201 N. Market St., where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 30. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, at the funeral home, with her pastor, the Rev. Robert E. Manthey officiating. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. Expressions of sympathy may be made in memory of Mrs. Knowles to the American Cancer Society, 1011 E. Patrick St., Frederick, Md. 21701.
