The Rev. P. D. LONGLEY, 82, retired Baptist minister, who had served 40 years in the ministry before his retirement six years ago, died at his residence in Apison at 4:30 p.m. Thursday. Mr. Longley was pastor of the Little Prospect Baptist Church in Whitfield Co., GA for many years. His last work was in organizing the High Point church near Apison. He held the pastorate of this church until his retirement. Surviving are his wife; seven daughters, Mrs. H. C. Brand, Mrs. Nellie Cagle, of Ooltewah; Mrs. Bruce Mays, Frances, Addie Ruth, Rosebud, and Shirley Ann Longley of Apison; six sons, J. W. and C. L. Longley of Apison; Walter, Menlo, GA; John, Dallas, TX; Mendel and L. P. of Apison; sixteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral arrangements will be announced.
