MRS. DAN LOEHR DIES AT 82 YEARS
Native of Ohio, Had Lived in Monroe Township Over Half Century
Mrs. Daniel M. Loehr, a resident of Monroe township more than half a
century, died at her home there Sunday, Oct. 21. She was 82 years of
age. Mrs. Loehr's death followed closely that of her husband, which
occurred on Sept. 11 of this year. She was a native of Ohio, where
she was born at Ashridge, in Brown county, on April 30, 1869. She
was the former Mary Louisa Trautwein, daughter of Jacob and Sarah
Trautwein. In 1893 she came to Madison county to make her home with
her brother, and an uncle. Here she was married on Oct. 23, 1898, to
Daniel M. Loehr. They started housekeeping in Lee township, where
they lived a year, then moved to Monroe township which since had been
their home. Surviving are two sons, Dr. Doyle M. Loehr of Moscow,
Ida., and Warrum Loehr of Grand River township; two daughters, Anna
Loehr at home and Mrs. Earnstein Grace of Denver, Colo.; and three
grandchildren. Services were held Wednesday afternoon from
Anderson's home for funerals, in charge of the Rev. Clement D. Loehr,
pastor of the Winterset Presbyterian church, and the Rev. James
Wilkins of Lorimor. Burial was made in Moon cemetery at Macksburg.

Erlyne Longley, a resident of New Braunfels, passed away on Sunday,
April 23, 2006 in San Antonio at the age of 63. Erlyne was born on
September 1, 1942 in Houston to Earl Newgent Hazlewood and Aline
Powell Hazlewood. On May 25, 1979, in Houston, Erlyne married the
love of her life, Charles Longley. Both family and friends would say
Erlyne and Charles were the most loving couple. She, along with her
loving husband, owned and operated a delivery business in New
Braunfels. Erlyne was completely dedicated to her husband, children,
and friends. Moreover, her steadfast faith in God was unwavering-all
who knew her will surely miss her. Her father, Earl N. Hazlewood,
preceded Erlyne in death, along with her brother, Robert Hazlewood.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Charles Longley;
mother, Aline Hazlewood, of New Braunfels; children, Darrin Cook and
wife, Annette, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Mark Cook and wife,
Sheryl, and Amy Cook, all of New Braunfels, Randy Longley, of
Houston, Tammy Longley, of West, Texas, Lorri Dixon, of New
Braunfels, and Michael Longley, of Houston; 15 grandchildren and 2
great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00
p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home.
The funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 27,
2006 at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in New Braunfels with the
Reverend Allen L. Harborth, pastor of River of Grace church in New
Braunfels, which is where Erlyne had her membership. Burial will
immediately follow at Hill Country Memorial Gardens Cemetery in New
Braunfels. Memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer
Society.
